G-Sync is Dead. VESA Adds Adaptive-Sync to DisplayPort Standard

Gysnc is better and I'd have enjoyed it for a few years before it gets surpassed.

People need to stop crying so much and enjoy whatever purchase they decide to make.

Surely it's better for us and the industry if both technologies continue?
Are we more likely to get innovation and improvements if there's competition?

Would we have Freesync if it wasn't for GSync? Will Freesync and the Adaptive Sync standard continue to improve if there's nothing pushing them to do so?

Ideally we'd want monitors to be able to do both so we're not locked in/out of GPUs, but ultimately more options has to be better doesn't it?

If that img was directed at me then it is petty and as expected from the Nvidia lackeys.

Get over yourself. you are the latest in a long line before you that appear and disappear. The very fact you use the terminology you do shows what a child you are.

If it is added to the display port standard, won't Nvidia have to adopt it regardless, as it is the "standard"??? I am sure you can't pick and choose what parts of a standard you implement unless you chose not to implement that standard.
Getting left behind over time wont help sales if in 2-3 years you are still on old tech, HDMi 2.0 as an example as I am sure AMD regret that choice. There are those, however small, who are buying Nvidia because of it.

It is inky an optional part of the spec.

I do not get the hate towards either technology, you buy the one you want or suits your needs. In an ideal world both would be supported on monitors but this is never going to happen unfortunately. I do not think G-Sync will go anywhere quickly as Nvidia have invested a lot into it.(Which brings the downside which is the cost of the module).
I would like to see adaptive sync included within all monitors as standard also, which maybe it will be one day!

I'm sure this Graphics forum should be called NVSuckersUK.
