Hey All,

I have stumbled across a big problem. I recently installed Total War Rome, to refresh myself for the new Total war thats coming out, and since I have installed that, my G15 isnt working.

When I say not working, the backlight is on, the LCD is responsive, the G keys works, the MR button works and so does the M1, M2 and M3 buttons. However, the letters, punctuation and numbers do not. There is no response from any of the apps I have tried to get the keyboard to work in.

It recognises a ps2 keyboard, and from that I have been able to access the BIOS. USB support for keyboards is enabled in there.

I have checked device manager, and under Keyboards it shows 4 Keyboards (since i installed the ps2 one as well, without that plugged in, it shows 3), none of which say the G15. I have tried un-installed all the keyboards there, but for some reason it says its done it, but they still appear.

Also checking in device manager, shows an error with Logitech GamePanel Devices, under vista slide show??? I have tried re-installing that but still says not working. I'm not sure whether this is connected to the keyboard not working, as I think thats the GamePanel is to do with the LCD display on the keyboard, in which case because the G15 isnt working its probably detecting an error with the Gamepanel app.

I have also gone into all the keyboards it shows and tried updating the drivers thru windows. I've also run search for new hardware, and now I'm at a loss.

I guess the next step would be for me to try and connect another USB keyboard to see if that works???

Oh and I have tried the G15 in different USB ports and other devices work of the same port as the G15 is connected to.

I'm running Vista 64bit.

Any one got any ideas, advice?

Cheers

Not yet, no, i'll try that tomorrow, not had access to another PC, but i will tomorrow.

Good idea batman.

Just tried in a different PC, and still dont work, although the LCD switches through its different screens. Nice, got fork out for another KB now.

I'll see if logitech has more than 1 years warranty, although I doubt it!

Nope, nothing at all.

I spoke to Logitech and they said they would send me a new one, once I send them proof of purchase today. Hopefully I'll get that from OCUK and should be sorted quickly.

Apparently it has a 2 year manufacturer warranty.

I had a faulty g15 replaced last week. Pretty sure they only carry a 1 yr warranty. I got to snap mine in half and send them a photo of that. :). Replacement arrived 2 days later shipped from Germany. You have to love logitech tech support.

Well the CS adviser said 2 years, I dont really care as long as i get it replace lol.

From what I have experience from Logitech they seem to be spot on so far.

Hopefully they will ask me to do the same and snap it in half, as I thought i may have to send it back.

There is an updated driver for the g15 that fixes compatability in x64. Came out for the newer g15 keyboard, but works well for the old blue backlight like mine.
