G2A implementing a monthly inactivity fee

i cant rmemeber if u have an account there or not. either way if i did i would have used an old card so surely they cant charge that?

From the article it looks like they only remove credit from the available G2A balance (if you have any) and once that runs out they delete the account if you don't login within a short time.

As to being able to charge from an old card depends - if the bank thinks a merchant has a viable reason to request payment from you they may still honour old card/account details contrary to what people think.

It only takes funds out of your G2A wallet so if there's nothing in there you don't get charged anything. Bizarre really.

I'm assuming someone at G2A has done some analysis of the accounts and noticed a nice sum locked away inside inactive ones.

Closed my account on principal, jokers. I only seem to have bought an Evolve key 3 years ago for 99p and never bought from them since anyway.

Account deleted too. Noticed I joined them 5 years ago! Only bought a couple of games by the looks of it.

I swore I would never use them again after having il2 revoked due to being stolen. The IL2 Devs spoke about it and explained that they consider companies like g2a to be crooks. (Mind you they said the same about cdkeys and I am not sure I agree there)
Either way I forgot to delete my g2a account but I have now due to this

Glad I saw this post, not used G2A in years but i can't see how they can get away with this, regardless of it only be the online Wallet, how long until they decide to use stored card details instead. Deleted my account on principle.

Online Bingo companies do it as well. I have no idea why they do it other than to get you back on the online on the off chance you might spend some more money. It's not as if they make anything from taking money from a wallet away as it is all paid for in advance.

Don't think I got an account there, I think I attempted to create one many years ago, but they wanted me to screenshot my passport like a few others did, so that clearly was never going to happen.

be lots of accounts being deleted, i wonder what genius come up with that idea. av never used them btw and never would.

I'm shocked there's anyone left after it came to light they were selling stolen keys. I mean who really wants the hassle of that?
