Yeh i really don't think nvidia will bother releasing any high end cards until ati get their ass in gear and get something to properly challenge the gtx's/ultra's. Until then it doesnt make any sense to release a faster card.

I do not use ATI

So up until 8 months ago and the release of the 8800, you were always using the duff 7 series without AA and HDR and crappy IQ?. Doesn't make sense unless you're a fanboy as pre 8800, Nvidia weren't the greatest.

Wondered when you would come back, since when was 7000 series duff, the customers wants a Nvidia I rec Nvidia and since I have freedom of choice I do so, I dont think ATI are crap just do not like them and have tested most uptill new range. :)

You seem to have a short memory of when Nvidia launched a card in April 2004 with S.M 3 etc and months later ATI launched cards with 2+year tech so you really cant **** one without the other or simply **** neither :p

And I am a Nvidia fanboy as you put it but your obv a ATI one going by your post, you wont see me say in any thread about ATI being crap, thats the difference. ;)

I never mentioned the x1950pro's, the 8600's will be getting bought over the 2600's etc.... which means ATi are wasting a helluva lot of money, as it must take a fair amount to make the cards, so its no good them just sitting in warehouses, on shelves etc..., and the 8600's will be selling well anyway due to being new cards, and being next gen Dx10.

Your average Joe will not know the difference, x1950pro old gen Dx9, 8600 new gen, and is new Dx10, they will go for the 8600 regardless of wether the x1950 is the faster card.

Well I mentioned the X1950 Pro as it's currently the "£100 king" and is a much better choice than anything in the 8600/8500/2600/2400 range for sheer price/performance.

Fact is, anyone who cares about performance will just pick up an X1950 Pro, and the OEM and "average Joe" type people will just pick up whatever's to hand/whatever's cheapest, it's not like they go trawling through review sites for information. That means both 8600 and 2600 series cards will sell well.

As it stands, ATi are making a killing in mid-range, and nVidia are making a killing at high end. It's perfectly poised. ;) :D
