Galaxy Unpacked 2023 - 26th July @ 12pm - Will you get a new device?

Are the higher end Samsung watches any good? I barely wear a watch, the last being this classic (over a decade ago).

And don't care about phone features, just things like notifications (at a glance) and especially health monitoring features. A good battery life would be good as well.

I like the idea of a fold but bought an S23 Ultra so will probably hold off this year.
More interested in the tablets at this point as I'm due an upgrade - expecting incremental updates to the S9+ and S9 Ultra (CPU mainly) but will likely order one or the other for work.
800 quid for a base tab S9. Ouch.

Haven't followed the tablet market closely but for a few years it seemed like they only reserved the high end chips for phones. As with everything on show though, kinda pricey!

Just had an email from Samsung telling me that a discount that was applied to my order was applied incorrectly, they only took £150 off when it should have been £250 - another £100 off the device.
So glad I waited now!

S9 Ultra 1TB 5G, Keyboard Case with a free set of Galaxy Buds2 Pro for less than £1400? That'll do

Lovely result. That certainly is a beautiful device

£1400 for an Android tablet...ouch. You can get a Macbook Pro for that price. The problem with an Android tablet is there aren't many apps that take advantage of the bigger screen, most are enlarged phone apps.

I could get a Macbook but I don't need one, its more like £1100 + £300 for the keyboard if I think about it like that!

I have zero issues with Android, I can do almost 99% of my day job in Android (I work in IT) I've got a remote desktop machine for anything Windows I need and in some ways Android is far superior for media, etc than Windows is.

This is replacing an ARM Surface Pro 9 which was refunded due to it being faulty - it was a nice machine but there's not enough Windows stuff on ARM yet and I found it really struggled sometimes with simple things even like playing certain types of video.

I've also been dabbling with running Debian of late on my similarly powered S23 Ultra, its been great this last week for getting access to a full Desktop Grade Browser!

Got a fold3 that's recently been in for a warranty repair so perfect condition to trade in. Tempted by the fold5 so I have it in my basket and left a tab open on the checkout screen I seem to remember receiving discount codes from Samsung to help me complete the purchase on the fold3 so holding out to see if I get that again...

£300 for a keyboard?

£300 for a keyboard?

It's £330 on its own but was discounted as its a pre order, was just making the point that of the £1400 if I'd had to pay full price for the Keyboard I'm really only paying £1100 for the tablet which is a steal.

Thr keyboard is well overpriced but there's zero 3rd party options for Samsung

S23 Ultra (£800) and S8+ tab (£360) purchased a few months ago.. best devices I've ever owned. Don't think I'll be changing either of them for at least 2 years.
