Galaxy Unpacked 2023 - 26th July @ 12pm - Will you get a new device?

I could get a Macbook but I don't need one, its more like £1100 + £300 for the keyboard if I think about it like that!

I have zero issues with Android, I can do almost 99% of my day job in Android (I work in IT) I've got a remote desktop machine for anything Windows I need and in some ways Android is far superior for media, etc than Windows is.

This is replacing an ARM Surface Pro 9 which was refunded due to it being faulty - it was a nice machine but there's not enough Windows stuff on ARM yet and I found it really struggled sometimes with simple things even like playing certain types of video.

I've also been dabbling with running Debian of late on my similarly powered S23 Ultra, its been great this last week for getting access to a full Desktop Grade Browser!

I bought a Tab S8 Ultra last year which came with the keyboard cover for free with pre-orders. I'd not intended to use it as a laptop but it makes a really nice alternative to one if you can do everything you need in android (and don't need to use the tablet AND keyboard on your lap). Being able to use it as a wireless screen for a windows based PC is handy too.

I've changed jobs recently and I can easily install my work stuff (O365) on Android but its locked down generally so I can't use a Windows device.
The other bits of dev/testing I need to do on non-corporate device and in the last few weeks I've actually tested that I can do almost everything on Android so I'm quite looking forward to it, I've long had Android tablets (Usually the smaller "Plus") but I like the extra RAM and storage in the Ultra, and that screen is gorgeous!

As you probably know the S6 is OLED too. Brightness is my only concern.

Ah sorry I forgot the older smaller tabs also had OLED (I actually had an S6 before!) - looking at reviews the S6 Max Brightness was around 296 Nits however it could "Peak" at 472 (if in direct sunlight, etc).
The new S9 is rated at 420 Max and 750 Peak according to Samsung

Been after a tablet to replace our iPad Air 2. Was originally planning to get a refurbished iPad Pro 11in 3rd Gen for about £530, but having seen the Tab S9, and realising that Android supports multiple users I'll pre-order from John Lewis. Tab S9+ and Keyboard Cover for £899 with 0% APR available for up to 18months seems like a no-brainer.

I just hope this tablet will serve us as well as the Air 2 which I've had since Nov/Dec 2014 so nearly 9 years.

The S9+ should be a great tablet (the S7+ and S8+ were!) - don't forget as well you should be able to get a free pair of Samsung Buds2 Pro for pre-ordereding

Managed to sell my Tab S8 for a lot more than what was offered as trade in from Samsung, so ordered the Tab S9 from a retailer that offering the same upgrade to 256GB & the keyboard case as well.
If Samsung had continued with the LCD or didn't offer the upgrade to 256GB/12GB, I would have probably stuck with the Tab S8 for another year or so.
