This probably isn't an appropriate thread and it's somewhat medical in nature, so sorry about that.

But I was wondering, how many people would (routinely?) go for a sexual health checkup/screening test thing.

I know I'm supposed to say that none of you would have cause to do such a thing because this is a computer forum and you're all virgins, but even I know that's not true. You're all studmuffins who sleep with at least fifty different partners a week...

I went for one recently, not because I was worried about anything, just thought I probably should since someone I used to go out with is apparently a complete hobag. All results negative, so that's good.. but it kinda got me thinking...about how many people there could be out there that look normal, but are riddled. I am careful with protection and stuff... though less so with long term partners and extra anti-baby control.

I had one a few years ago at the request of my then girlfriend before we had any contact of that nature... again all clear but then she told me she had the herpes so I ran away.

Cheeky ****! :D

Did they put the metal probe up your winky?

That is why I have never been, it scares the living **** out of me.

Do you mean the umbrella thing? I think that's only if you have gonorrhea. The test for it doesn't use a metal probulating device. It's not exactly pleasant though.

Especially when they get you to lie on the bed, with a bit of paper towel over your private parts as if to give you the impression it won't be too embarrassing... then bugger off out the room for a few mins... only to return with a young, attractive student nurse type girl and say "You don't mind if so and so observes the procedure, do you." not actually as a question, more as a statement.

Then whip off the anti-shame device and manhandle you for a minute or two.

I'm sure that room was extra cold, too.

I thought pretty much everyone had herpes these days? I know most, if not all of America has and I've pretty much rogered everyone worth rogering on the West Coast!

Have got myself checked out (as did the other party) every time I was in a relationship that lasted long enough to go condom-free.

This partially down to my natural cautiousness in such matters, but mainly due to my catching a dose of NSU back in the 80's after a night of poor decisions.

I go once a year, been surprised a couple of times, but that's the nature of the game I guess.

nothing two tablets and a glass of water didn't solve. But as you say it's very definitely better to be safe than sorry, even if it is comical being surrounded by teenagers at the clinic :p

play on player

I've been checked twice in my life, both came back negative :).

Horrible thing when they shove the cotton bud in your japs eye, squirming just thinking about it.

I smash them on almost a daily basis.

They are doing a good deal on pastries at my local supermarket.

Happens to be on my path to work.

Well:

Always use protection.
Give blood regularly so have a blood test every 3 months

Starting a serious relationship - both partners get checked.
