Just picked this up the other day after seeing them pick up best british newcomer at the Kerrang awards - good to see a bit of british hardcore trying to break through after all the post-hardcore that's been dominating for the last few years.

Check them out if you like Will Haven, Norma Jean, Evergreen Terrace, Snot and bands of the like.

Mildly derailing my own thread in the first post, but it would seem that Will Haven are touring soon - AWESOME!!

Good band.
Not to digress from the topic too much but what do you reckon to Jaworski's vocals on the new Will Haven stuff? I'm not as into the new stuff to be honest but they still have some cool tracks.

I'm not the biggest fan of them, tbh. I like 3 songs on the album. But I do have a lot of respect. They worked really hard to get where they are.

Check out Attack! Vipers!

How new are we talking? I only really listen to Carpe Diem at the moment. If they've released another album really recently, then I've not seen it.

The album's pretty samey, but it's good to see something different break onto the scene. Hopefully it's an indication that we might get a bit more decent hardcore because I've not heard any for quite a while.

I will have a listen to Attack! Vipers! when I get home - I don't ever remember you being wrong about a recommendation before!! :p

Will Haven released a new album a few months ago with their friend Jaworski taking over vocal duties.
For me, Carpe Diem and El Diablo are thier finest moments.

I didn't know that - what's it called? I'll check it out

I just love how the lead singer is a small skinny runt, covered in tattoos, screaming into a mic.

Attack! Vipers! not bad. Jets vs Shark formers?

heh, you should check them out, Gilly. You'd probably hate them with a fiery passion!

Thats how I know its a slight on the wolves. I heard them on Jo Whiley yesterday and I didn't know who to dislike more. Her or the 'music' she was playing.

They are the complete opposite of exactly whats going on just now. The perfect antidote to Enter Shikari. I have great respect for both bands, because they basically wouldn't go away for 2 or 3 years.

The UK has some awesome bands right now. Check out Ghost of a Thousand, the Plight and Departures, for examples of good bands that are kicking about right now.

Indeed. I think they're great. My review for the album is on their myspace too. Woo.

EDIT: Has anyone heard the single version of "In the Belly of a Shark"?! What the **** have they done to the production?!?!

Gallows are an excellent band, really like their stuff. But for some reason I've never bothered getting their album.

Also, is that Will Haven worth picking up? Huge fan of El Diablo and Carpe Diem so I'm interested to know what its like.

you definitely hate Jo Whiley more. I can't stand that woman - she's the biggest name-dropper in the history of the universe (maybe)

I certainly shall check them out. I think Enter Shikari are the peak of all this post hardcore that's been played, seemingly non-stop, for the past couple of years. Hopefully it'll go down soon!

I zoned out of Will Haven after WHVN :/

I didn't hate that album, but it was nowhere near as good as anything they'd done before. I'd still give subsequent albums a go on the strength of their earlier ones.
