isn't lethal bizzle grime?!

aye

he does one of there tracks though i think , someone said hes done production for them too but how true that is i dont know

hes just mates with the band members afaik , track he does with them is "intresting"

Lethal Bizzle said that he went along to watch the emopunkers show at Emo's.

He admitted: "It was like nothing I've ever seen in my life. I had my last show later that night and (Gallows) inspired me. They performed the whole show in the middle of the dancefloor."

Gallows guitarist Laurent Barnard recalled: "We saw Bizzle in the crowd during the show getting really into it. He absolutely loved it."

:p

I was listening to Belly Of a Shark on the radio yesturday?

It sounded a bit punk like? with a generic chugchug chugchug breakdown.

I thought like.... Throwdown and Hatebreed were Hardcore?

Nah, metalcore. Too many produced riffs/heavy chugging/solos to be real hardcore. New Throwdown is absolutely hilarious, by the way. Comically bad.

I'm not the biggest fan of them, tbh. I like 3 songs on the album. But I do have a lot of respect. They worked really hard to get where they are.

Check out Attack! Vipers!
A!V! are awesome. Saw them for the first time at Out Of Spite in Leeds last month and they really were great.

Gallows are alright but a bit overrated. They have nothing that shedloads of other UK punk/hardcore acts don't have, but they've dropped quite lucky.

hmm Genre discussion time lol, Throwdown and Hatebreed are a lot closer to Hardcore than Metalcore....... Metalcore is more like, Killswitch, Caliban, As I Lay Dying, All That Remains... ok the difference is minimal but there's still a difference.

I don't think I've ever heard ANY solos by Throwdown Or Hatebreed.....

It depends. The majority of bands classed as metalcore take their cue from the likes of At the Gates and Sick of it All. Solos are irrelevent, I feel. I'd say that Hatebreed, Throwdown, Terror etc are more "pure" metalcore because you can clearly hear the combination of massive Pantera riffs and huge Sick of it All style beatdowns.

Yeah, I'd just call those type of bands 'heavy hardcore'. It's really boring and generic though, especially Hatebreed who absolutely suck.

can we please not petty argue over genres? as far as I'm concerned, stuff like that is just as subjective as music itself.

There's no discussion about it, really. Gallows come from the same school as Black Flag, Minor Threat and every other pioneering 80s hardcore band. As Woody says, stuff like Throwdown takes its cues mainly from 80s metal and thrash and latter day hardcore bands like SOIA.

I really don't think Frank & co. had "massive pop production values" on their to do list in the recording studio, to be honest. If it sounded big it would sound completely stupid as it would be completely inappropriate for their style of music.

Note: if you don't know the difference between metalcore and metallic hardcore, then you really should do a little reading/listening before wading in the (admittedly reasonably tired) subject of genre debate; it's an important subtlety that's often overlooked, and I think several people in this thread are unaware of it.

Anyone who says "they're exactly the same" is talking out of their backside, I'm afraid. I could put a big list here detailing what it involves, but there are places you can read about it already by people who are more knowledgeable than me, so it'd be pretty pointless.

A bit like the remix of "In the Belly of a Shark"? The new production makes me cringe.

If I remember rightly, the last Throwdown album was basically a Pantera album with beatdowns instead of solos. I've not heard the new one but I assume it's equally as bland.

The first was just a bit funny (World Behind, Burn, etc. always used to make me laugh), but the new one is just comically bad. They actually rip off a Pantera song (IIRC) for one of the songs too.
