Game 'completion' stats

Steam sales should come with a safety warning - bought loads of games not completed/barely played...

Although last Xmas (I think!!!!!) I picked up Left For Dead 2, started playing it a month or 2 ago and love it!

If I've forked out £25-30 for a game (or more, on consoles) I make damn well sure I'll get my moneys worth by at least completing it once??? At least blasting through the main campaign.

I don't judge my money's worth on whether I complete a game, but how much time I've played it and how enjoyable it was. I've sunk hundreds of hours into Mount & Blade: Warband, and I've never got more than a few castles to my name. GalCiv II I've played maybe 4 or 5 missions of the main campaign, but it's still taken up more of my time than any other game in my history. I never quite finished Dragon Age, though I actually lament that one, but I played it for days and thoroughly got my money's worth.

I blame the steam sales, i'll play a game for ages trying to complete it, then something comes along in the steam sales so i end up buying it and moving onto that for abit.

I tend to try and complete the story in most games, don't really bother with achievements really.

i have never completed any of the GTA series, just get a bit bored after a while

Same, I did half of GTA EFLC but the game gets abit annoying when you complete one mission, 99% of the time the next mission is on the other side of the map.

I like games for their replay factor, Dirt 2 was and is has a shortcut icon on my desktop.

Crysis was another when I learnt how to alter the user settings so I could mess around with all weapons and god mode.

Others include Sim City 4 and Anno 1404 as you can build your towns and villages up.

Just looked through my steam games list, there about about 20-30 games in there which i've never even installed to try let alone completed :( (mostly bought as bulk batches of games in deals)

Damn those Steam sales :D I'm the same got loads I've never even installed!

Same here, though I expect it's also down to a lack of drive space for some folk. It certainly is in my case. :)

I used to complete a vast majority of games and I still do like to complete most games; perhaps it's less than it once was, the older I get the harder I am to satisfy. Some I just buy on a gamble for a few quid (like the Steam sale) so in some ways it's also about easy accessibility as well which affects things / skews the numbers. :)

Apparently the worst one was 'unreal tournament 2003'.

3% completion.

In fairness the main campaign was just bolted on to the sides of the multilpayer ..

Yeah, in games like that there's often very little point in playing the single player, as it's just a weaker version of the online play.

This thread makes me feel bad, simply because i have owned hundreds of games through the years and i can only ever remember completing one of them....Mini Ninja's :(

I just dont seem to be able to stay interested in a game for long enough to complete it.

I need to change this, i have now completed Lara Croft and the Guardian of ****e....after only 10 hours of play.

To say i am disappoint is an understatement....are the days of playing a game for weeks on end gone?

Something like AC/AC2 I had to complete, it had me interested.

But the HL series is really tough to endure. I play for about an hour then come back to it a month later.
