Ok so I want a new gamepad, my MS sidewinder is like 10 years old lol, I was looking at the 360 controller but from a competitor the windows version is out of stock (a competitor being cheapest) so what I want to know is can I just use a normal 360pad? anyone have experience with them?

ta.

No competitors! FF.

a friend of mine uses one with a converter and says it works fine but was just looking for assurance, now you've put me in two minds again! :(

get the normal 360 pad. you dont need the windows version. The only difference between the two is that the windows version comes with the microsoft drivers, which are crap anyway - use the modified xbcd drivers instead.

I've got the normal version so i know it works;)

i got a normal wired 360 from tescos yesterday and it works a treat! plug into usb slot and it automatically searches web for drivers! So comfortable compared to my logitech cordless rumble 2

If you have a PS2 pad, just buy a USB > PS2 converter.
Can have them for around £3-4

best option imo... Playstation 2 controller is lovely to use... perfect for the PC aswell.

ive got one and i recommend it

Hi Guys,

Just plugged my 360 controller into my PC to play NFS Carbon, picked up the driver using the web driver download thingy.

One problem I've noticed though is that when I'm not touching the analogue stick the car is still steering a little, as if the axis need re-calibrating but this doesn’t happen when I use it on the 360 (i.e the controller is fine).

Anyone know a way to fix this?

Cheers!
