Game Dev Story

Silly question

How do you guys make games?

Go to Develop at the top, Develop Game, and for the first game. I would go for a PC game.

Don't spread yourself too thin at the start. My path was

PC - NES - SNES - PS1

I think from that point everything kinda exploded....

I must really, REALLY be terrible at this game as I'm in about year 8, when the Playstation and the Saturn turn up and I've been consistently broke, have crap workers with low stats and never have enough money to buy the licenses to develop on the best consoles. This game just sucks for me at the moment. :( :(

All i can say is that don't waste money on the staff to give them chances to make the games better...their stats are too low to make it.

Don't do contract jobs too often, they don't earn enough, make Pc games instead.

When you have enough, make NES, then SNES, then ps1... Then create your own.

Hire a girl call Francoise bloom, she has insane stats, and Walt Sidney (lol), they are my best 2 staff, ovef 500pts for program, scenario in stats for Fran, and over 500 for graphic off walt.and 560 for scenario.

Fran is the best though over all.

That's not true at all, I usually did 1 game, 2 contract jobs, 1 game, 2 contract jobs and so on

Money flies in still and you get so many research points that giving money to the staff to increase stats is well worth while as you always stick a load of research points in and it never fails (maybe 1 in 20 times)

Worked for me :)

It depends, if you need that extra 500k to start develop that game you wanted then they are worthwhile but they are often take too long if your staff stats are low, so am 8 weeks job takes 7 weeks. If you staff stats are high, and can finish an 8 weeks job after 2 weeks then they are not worth it. Since you can create about 5 games in a year, one every 2 months, and each making millions if not 10s of millions.

Lol, I do love this game.
I'm convinced that the game type and direction don't matter, as reviewers gave 36 points to my Audio book/Sumo combo :)

I#'ve just unlocked a few others, so am about to try a 'Racing/swimsuit' and 'Online-sim/Mushroom' combo too.

Played my first game to year 20 and then started again and am on year 30 but still havent moved to the final largest offfice. Dont know why its not letting me :(

any ideas?

I've only just discovered this game...my iphone battery already hates me.

I had to charge up 3 times yesterday.

Quick question, which hiring method gets the best staff? I'm slowly moving up the methods, but the quality of staff still doesn't seem that good.

There are no strict best combination, as long as the stats for the games are high, they will sell.

Just to concentrate to use some boost (buy from the sales man) for fun first of all, get that above 100 if you can. When you use the boost, select the staff member with high stats for THAT field.

RPG and Fantasy goes well, but like I said, I can make a Poncho/Mystery game, or Simulation/Swimsuit game to sell 70,000 copies and make me $300million.

how many offices are there?

i am in the brown looking one. is that the biggest?

i still cant make a game where every stat is above 200....

still waiting for a clean sweap of 10's in the reviews...
