Game moments which you've just thought.... "My goodness"

FMV sequences were quite entertaining to –

Magic Carpet
Syndicate Wars
Dark Forces
Full Throttle

Forza 3 – Hitting over 200mph in a DBR9 racing down the straights on the ring out braking opponents into the corner, even I was putting my foot down on the floor hard thinking it’d help me slow down, even though I was using a gamepad

Dirt – Japan Rally, amazing feeling racing under and over the tunnels and hills on Japanese back roads…

Another good part in Batman Arkham was in the morgue, for those who’ve played the game to that point will know… Well creepy, for those who’ve not, get to that section now, its fantastic.

Another World – when you go to the observation tower and see just how alien the world really is.
 
Stepping out of the sewers at the beginning of Oblivion in the dead of night. I just stood there for 5 minutes looking at the screen, it was unbelievable.

Also, the moment I had completed LoZ:ALTTP, as a 10 year old is a gaming moment that will stick with me forever.
 
COD4 - The helicopter crashing on the sniper level as the other sniper is running away from it.

Fallout 3 - As you leave the vault for the first time and the sunlight is pouring through the wooden door at the end. You exit and presented with this barren world. I'm a sucker for post-apocalypse games.

DAOC - Any PvP encounter be it skirmishes or relic keep raids. I'd love running Emain and as you crest a hill spot a full group of hibs / mids and charge them. First mez to land was generally the winner. :)

That was my first major game online, aside from playing SOF2 like a crack addict it looked amazing to me. :)
 
UO - 7 years worth of "OMG", stunning game! If you didnt play it you missed out on one of the best MMORPGs thats ever hit the PC.

Far surpasses any of the other crap in this thread :p

Depends on your system spec..

PS3 has addtional joker content.

PC has much better visuals and higher res, but needs a decent system to run it. Nothing too OTT, but a 2GB 4850 or higher system is needed

Xbox 360 gives nothing extra above the two just mentioned..

Played it on both PS3 and PC, PC is by far and away better looking on a ATI 5870 system..
 
Dead Space last boss.

When i first played Max Payne considering i love John Woo films...

DAOC relic raids.

Resident Evil series had some great moments.

Playing Doom 3 then having one of those spider things crawl infront of your screen round a dark corner.:p

Playing Crysis maxed for the first time just looking at scenery most of the time.

Silent Hill 2 when you first see Pyramid Head and think "what a great unique monster"...

Just checked out Earthrise, looks like something for me to keep an eye on.
I had ofcourse hoped Darkfall would turn into the next NC but it doesn't look like it will.

And Bonus points to the person who reminded me about Flashback. The intro of that game when I first saw it on my Amiga was awesome.
 
For me a few games stand out for the jaw dropping moments really

KOTOR - we all know which bit
World of warcraft - first outdoor pvp raid on astranaar in ashenvale, probably about 100 people there just piling into each other
Mass effect 1 ending
Resident evil 1 opening cinematic then the one you get if you try open the front door in the mansion again!
Medal of honour allied assault - omaha beach
Far cry - leave the cave you start in for the first time and witness the visuals
Crysis - alien ship section, which when you have on the highest settings looks real
Turok 1 - firing the fusion canon and cronoscepter for the first time and watching everything on the screen die in the nuclear style blast
Half life 2 - boat section and then car section later on, giving a real sense of enormaty to the game
Haegamonia - the explosions from ships still looks the best I've ever seen to this day
Modern warfare 2 - airport level, truly awesome

I'm sure ive missed a few but thats the initial list which comes to mind
 
^ gonna agree on the airport level just for the 'oh my god...im shooting civilians' factor, was truely a 'shocking' but so brilliantly executed level

Ah yes loved that opening section, you even got the feeling the mothership really was this civilisations last chance. I remember hurrying to get ships docked as fleets of ships came in ready to attack.

Never really got in to mmorpg but UO was my first encounter. Remember sitting in my mates tiny cottage near Vesper beach watching people walking past was quite amazing!
 
My very last blind purchase for Empire Earth III.

I were like 'My goodness, this game is complete crap and nothing like the first two!'.

Legend Of Mir: Oh my days...took all my life was studying at school at the time. But this game just stopped all that, remember fighting for Sabuk Wall or what ever its called now big PVP battles was crazy !!!
Was the first eva MMORPG i played and will be always be the best ive played.
