I'll see how long I last as my time is definitely worth more than the £12/month that I pay for games pass

It does just feel like its free though...

Out of interest, how would you automate a lot of the tasks?

The daily searches I do using a PS script that leverages visiting bing.com/search?q=$Word where $Word is whatever I want from a list, but this is using an old InternetExplorer.Application com object which lets you browse stuff sort of with Internet Explorer.

The methods for automating other activities like the quizzes and things I'd love to do as well, but seems more complex.

I agree, for the most part. I can do a lot of this with my morning tea when booting up stuff or work though, so it's not insanely time consuming, or otherwise taking away from other stuff.

Automating more as above would help further!

Tried AoE2 but when I join a lobby I get a world icon and not an Xbox icon, even though I am logged onto my Microsoft account in the game. Also it seems that you get 10 points for playing a PC game and then 5 points for linked accounts, 5 for having 7+ friends and then 5 for having a subscription. So you can get 20 points without a sub and 25 with a sub for playing a PC game, still seeing if you can get any of the others. Where does the 250 come from? It's 100 for joining a lobby, 150 for joining a lobby\game with a friend?

Well what I did on Steam what send messages to the HTTP server, I would get the RSA key etc, set up the cookies with the machine id etc.. and then eventually get a sessionid. Then once you have that you can get send an HTTPS request to do whatever, things I did for was get sale cards, scrape my data, get CSGO stats, add a free game to all my accounts, you could also do things like send message, post on the discussion boards. Anything you can do on the Steam site you can automate, all you have to do is figure out what the server is expecting and recreate it. And with Microsoft it would be a similar situation, you log in, get the rewards page, use regular expressions to get what you want from it. Basically you just figure out what you want to click on and find a way to get that link or cookie or parameter or whatever and just match what a browser would send to the server.
 
@Dark Light it's 100 points for "play pc game with friends", though they can be random people for age of empires in my experience, not in Minecraft though. So it seems to vary depending on have. Then you get an additional 50 points for having linked accounts, 50 points for having so many friends and 50 points for being a game pass sub. Making for a total of 250.

Edit - if you logged into your live account in aoe2, I would expect it to work Tbh. Fairly sure it did for me with halo wars 1. It's not instant and can take a while to pop up, though as I mentioned before, it's normally done within 10 minutes for me.

Both will trigger eventually if you got game pass in an AOE2 lobby.

Would really like to try it out, but if you can't do it for whatever reason then you would start losing points, so getting a 3 month sub is quite a commitment. That and wanting to see what happens with World of Warcraft. Also still need to get 7 friends, I added the users listed in this thread.

Quite easy to get to 7 that way.

Yes I figured that out last night, managed to get a breakdown on the Xbox mobile app. Its 10 for the play a PC game with a bonus of 5, 5, 5 and for the online game it is 100, 50, 50, 50, it does seem that you can get 220 points without the pass. You can also get a few points for logging into the app, and some for playing Jewelled or what ever it is called. Only thing I am not sure about now is that "shopping game". Another thing that no one has mentioned is that you can get a few points for logging into the Bing mobile app.

Also still need to get more friends, does anyone want to add me?
 
New specced PC and game pass just refuses to install, goes half way through the process then just stops.
Any ideas people?

All i can think of is i popped in my samsung 970 M.2 which had games and programs/pass on it purely so i could retrieve some of them, could this be the culprit ?

I'm not sure you need people to add you, you just need to add others i thought? I think I saw a few people trading names earlier, throw up your xbox tag and someone is bound to add ya!

This is the *worst* part of game pass - the MS store/game install/updates. I've had loads of issues in the past (mostly with state of decay 2). Thankfully I've not had any recently - unfortunately no tips I can offer. If you've changed the SSD it wouldn't surprise me if it decided to throw a fit and break tbh.
 
Still doing this but the 250 points for playing a multi-player game is so fickle sometimes.

I wish I could just send a fake post to a URL to pretend I did it, it's the most annoying/painful one to get each day. The other activities are relatively reliable.

I boot into AOE 1 and then go to lobbies, sometimes takes a bit of time to get into one as they're often full.

Once I'm in, sometimes I get booted out randomly (perhaps host ends the lobby or just feels like booting people out), but if not, I've had it take 1-2 hours to trigger the 250 point thing, if it even wants to bother at all.

I only tend to leave it a long time if I'm using the PC for other stuff anyway, if not I shut it down if it's failed to get the points by the time my script has finished searches and things.

Who else still does this and how do they find it? Sometimes feels like a lot of work for minimal returns, but free is free!
 
My current strategy is that I try and get it whilst the other things run, and if it hasn't triggered then I don't leave the PC on just to get it.

If I'm playing something else I'll leave it on a bit longer in the background to try.

If I don't get it, I don't lose sleep over it, sometimes triggering of it at MS side seems unreliable.
