dg reply not been bunny hopping since cod 1 patched out 1.2 so impossible to do.

admin hits ban button. :D

I can understand why you dont like bunnyhopping, it's mostly for people with bad aim, to give them a little more time alive to make up for a skill deficit in which they can't actually take people down quickly. Sadly though that's a **** reason to ban someone.

Not really... that kind of excuse/reasoning from people that aren't able to aim properly is quite frequent though.

Maybe, but most decent players know to keep bunnyhopping inside Halo/Quake, with the military sims and semi-sims like COD and BF bunnyhopping just makes a player look like a retard, and makes them stupidly easy to take down while impairing their already terrible aim. I'll admit that I used to do it myself on the Xbox when I was about 15 playing COD4, but kinda grew up since though. :p

A big part of the reason I like ARMA so much now is because it isn't just a shooting gallery of retarded human clay pigeons, it's a good heartpounder whenever you run across another player because most of them are actually a threat to you.

Tbh I agree that bunny hopping is more a Quake thing..it's certainly where I learnt and used it as it was required to keep your speed up moving around. In more modern games it doesn't really provide an advantage to players that use it so yeah - it just makes them look a little dumb.

There's a huge amount of people that regard any jumping at all as bunny hopping and are quick on the trigger to ban the players that dare to press their space bar though...and usually the kind of people that complain about this are also the kind to assume that they're the best players ever and anyone that beats them must be using a bot.

At the end of the day I find whining about any play style or weapon choice/etc to be really tedious...generally those that do it are giant man-children and of quite low skill.

I found that bunny hopping in Quake actually helped your aim a lot, but like you said it provides no advantage in non-twitch FPS games, it just makes it easier to take people down. My biggest gripe about COD (which I'm ashamed to say are the FPS games I've played the most besides Quake 3) was that a lot people were really easy to kill due to bunny hopping and it didn't leave any satisfaction at all when I ended on a large K/D because I knew that if they knew how to play properly, it might of gone down differently.

Weirdest thing I've found within communities like COD though, is that people who camp with high powered rifles get a lot of stick from the other people playing, but the toddlers bunny hopping with dual MP7s were considered '1337' yet ended up on the bottom of the scoreboard every time. By their logic 'anything goes' in order to rack up the kills because bunny hopping is hardly a military tactic, but people who choose to stick to a safer spot in order to score a lot of long range kills (usually ending at the top of the scoreboard) are 'scum'. Really weird that. It's almost as though they think that bouncing off the walls putting 60 bullets into the floor and dying takes more skill than sitting back 300 meters and scoring sprinting headshots.

I think the communities are the biggest reason people are starting to dislike COD, not the actual games themselves.

Tbh I find camping super tedious. I never sit around with a sniper rifle myself and probably play more like the 'bunny hopping noobs' (not bunny hopping but running around like a mad man). I tend to do pretty well in the games I play...which is something I love pointing out to anyone that has just sat in a building all game and has an awesome KDR but only 4 kills.
