Game Servers

Well that depends on where you camp, and the map itself. Running and gunning is a fine way to play as long as you don't think you're Spiderman. Anyone who snipes and only gets four kills should stop playing, the whole point is to re position after a few kills and move with the action. That's what the 'One Man Army' perk (I think it was called) is awesome for, sniper/assault rifle, meant you can enjoy sniping while being able to safely get around for new areas and fresh kills.
 
Reminds me of the guy who had a quakewars server booting everyone for "bunnyhopping" and limiting movement speed to about 1/3rd of normal then wondering why no one would play on it.

9 times out of 10 bunny hopping results in a small window where you can predict their movement to a high degree of accuracy and leaves them exposed so calling someone skillless for doing it is a bit of an own goal as your the one lacking the skill to take advantage of it.

I can see why some people would want to ban it from proper milsim setups but your just not going to be able to distinguish between people jumping normally and bunny hopping well enough to not just end up unjustly banning a load of people.
 
Surely it's better to just find a counter to a tactic you don't like that way you get to slaughter anyone who dares to play in a way you don't like, I dislike campers myself but in most games once you get to know the maps sneaking up behind a camper is fairly easy, bunny hopping as someone above has mentioned does not really give the person jumping an advantage IMO & nine times out of ten they actually damage their chances of getting a kill because of reduced accuracy, wait till they reach the peak of the jump & blam one dead bunny ready for tea bagging!

Yup. My tactic for campers involves killing them repeatedly and then mocking them for not knowing how to use WASD.

I couldnt care less what people think about my clans reasons to ban people. If they don't like the rules they don't play there. The server is always busy, and many have been banned. I couldnt care less, they will get 1 warning and if they do it again bye bye.
 
ahah this is epic fail

cod quake engine games are based on strafing and jumping :p

banning people for it is quite retarded. any decent player will strafe or jump its part of the game. if you ban people for it sorry you are bad.

go watch any high standard play games or players all strafe and jump shot its part and parcel of the engine.

mainly servers that ban this kind of stuff are low hc sctyle servers where one good player enters rapes the admin = ban.

go learn about jumping and how its actually part of game before saying its skilless lol.

Seriously though, it's quite funny how you'll go about banning better players because you're a noob.

As a old school Quake 2 / Quake 3 CPMA player... I find this crazy too. Banning people who can move faster than you because they took the time to learn bunny hopping / strafing? haha. What if a player comes along with both good movement and aim at the same time, whats the excuse then? :)
 
A ban for bunnyhopping?

Thats a bit harsh..maybe if a player was excessive bunny hopping then just a kick is more than enough,he comes back and continues to bunnyhop then it would be ban time.

Not just ban straight away that's why i hate game admins these days,They abuse their powers so much.
 
Just watch out you don't invite people with better aim than you. So then you have to use bunny hopping too! :)
 
We give them a warning, then ban them. Look if they don't like it, they go elsewhere. Just looked, server has been up 2 days and 18 people are banned. Theres plenty of people playing it, theres always a queue to get in our server, people like that people aint hopping, the way it should be. Say what you want, i really don't care. Starting to bore me now tbh.

the best thing is you cant bunny hop :p its been removed from games for years ;) this is what makes it even more funnier.

what people who dont know what bunny hopping actually is is not what they often ban people for which is just jumping round corner or jumping and shooting.

bunny jumping is to gain speed through progressive jumps which cant be done in many games since about ten years ago :p

so as pointed out if you cant hit someone jumping you are the bad player not those jump.
