So I guess this is going to sound pretty odd...

I'm just doing a new system build as I'm creating a machine primarily for software dev but also for gaming (after witnessing BF3 on my friend's latest build).

The last time I actually did a build was way back when the game "Dungeon Siege" was out (yes *that* long ago).

So I was wondering what kind of game are out there now that are similar? Am I just better off waiting for Diablo 3?

Also - would it even be possible to run Dungeon Siege on a modern system / OS. You know.... just for nostalgic purposes ;)

Thanks in advance as usual.

I'd wait till Torchlight 2 if you want Diablo 3, it's much cheaper and just as good if not better IMO :p

Buy it on steam

Yes, you can play Dungeon siege on Win7 x64, I tried it (for a the first time) a few months ago. I had to specify a commandline though, which I think it may have been running in software mode(?)

Just checked, here is the cmdline:

nointro=true width=1680 height=1050 fullscreen=true vsync=false maxfps=120 bltonly=true

You're a gent :) Thanks very much.

I shall have to scour the net for a copy!

I really liked DS 1, i didnt like the other ones tho they just wernt very good even tho i did play em for a good time but i just couldnt get on with em.

What i liked most was the no leveling system i.e you use what you wanted to skill up in i.e if you wanted to be good with a sword u use that if you want to have better fire magic use that if you wanted bow to be stronger u use that. It made things a lot easier and found the game to be a pleasure to play like that. Also the rest of the gameplay was fun too especially the no loading stuff and the action.

Co-op was very fun too.
