Game Soundtracks

Only a few oldies really appealed to me OST wise out of game:

- Grand Theft Auto 1
- The 7th Guest (has a music CD of tracks 'about/inspired by T7G, rather than the music in game)
- Wipeout 2097

Hardwar had an excellent soundtrack supplied by the late 90s warp roster. Autechre, squarepusher, LFO - don't think there was any Aphex or BoC but you can't have everything. Great game too if you look past the FMV cutscenes.

If you're talking original music, Hyper light drifter and everything from Amanita Design - All have genuinely excellent music.

On the flip side Bethesda RPGs always seem to come with banal generic themes that repeat so regularly that it becomes a choice between the mute button or a slow descent into insanity.

I own;

Age of Empires 1 and 2
Age of Mythology
Mass Effect
Skyrim
Final Fantasy...far to many to mention
Most WoW ones
NWN2
Dragon Age
Pillars of eternity 1 and 2
Diablo 3 and expansion
Halo 1 and 2
Many command and conquer series ones

I know I have so many more but typing on phone is annoying. I collect the ones I enjoy, just like film scores.

Not into soundtracks, generally, but I like the Subsurface Circular soundtrack by Dan le Sac. I've not played the game, but the album's good

The Hitman games had some excellent music when Jesper Kyd was the composer, Absolution's was naff in comparison.

Also if you like ambient music, Limbo.
