GameGPU bench Star Citizen

this is one of those games that even if it doesn't particularly interest you you should at least be interested in it because they seem to be pushing the capabilities of what computers are able to achieve rather than some other companies that tell us 30 fps is fine

Not run the bench, just jumped on to test Crossfire and see if I was indeed running 100fps

And what I have found out I was indeed wrong about single GPU getting 100fps least in the area where your ship is...

But Crossfire is also working!
"Stunning" :cool:

Games seem to be locked too 120fps this could be vsync but I see no option in the games settings.

Driver 14.9
1080p - Max settings the game at this stage will allow...

Stunning

I can not wait for the single player campign and then the next modules and finally the game :)

Got a gtx 980 to do me until the release at the end of 2016 and then i will buy whatever comes out just before the release so i can hopefully set everything to max and see my 890 jump in all its glory :D

Wasnt this game also getting Mantle?

Yes it is, so you can expect some nice performance boosts if you have an AMD card. Certainly Crossfire will be extremely powerful under Mantle. ;)

Greetings Citizens,

We are pleased to announce that Star Citizen will include support for AMD’s new Mantle graphics API. Mantle is a new technology which promises to significantly increase the graphical power of games, which should greatly benefit Star Citizen’s greatly-detailed universe. You can find the entire AMD press release, including comments from Chris Roberts, below.

The Star Citizen team is always eager to investigate new technologies that will better immerse players, whether they’re the new frontiers of virtual reality offered by the Oculus Rift or the under-the-hood GPU-efficiency increasing technology of AMD’s Mantle API.

Dragon Age launches shortly with Mantle support as well.

Figured something was wrong with those graphs when you see a 295x2 only getting the same fps as a 290....

If you do not hack the settings file of the game AND force a profile on the CCC, Crossfire isn't working properly with Star Citizen at the moment.

And as AMDMatt said, Mantle and Crossfire are a blast.

This game will be so awesome.

But about the benchies, it's way too early to judge performances at this early hour of the game development. There are absolutely 0 optimisation done by game developers, nor drivers from either side. Also fps module looks like it's way more demanding than space flight is. And those huge citizies with insane amount of polygons just gonna melt our current hardware :P

Did anyone see the fps demo from pax australia?

This just in, usual suspect trawls interwebz to bring old benchmarks skewed to particular brand.. Shocker! ;)

Just teasing Greg

I post up some benches for those that are thinking of getting the game. Sorry if this displeases you but I would rather know what to expect with certain hardware, as would many others I suspect.

I couldn't find anything more recent or much at all in truth, so beggars can't be choosers and was glad to provide some info to OcUK followers.

One thing I think could potentially happen is that SLI 780/970/980 will be bottlenecked by the CPU itself unable to maintain 80~100fps+ at all time (particularly the more demanding scenes dipping down to 40-50fps) on dx with the GPUs not being fully utilized, while Crossfire 290/290x users would probably won't get that kind of dips with Mantle allowing the CPU push 80-100fps+ at all time with the GPUs being fully utilized.

This is something worth consideration particularly for people with 120/144Hz monitors. I guess we need more bench results closer to the release of the game, particular scenes that stresses CPU the most.

Though for 60Hz monitors users, it probably wouldn't matter too much as they only really aimming at pushing 60fps max.

Star citizen is also going to support DX12, and as full release is not looking like it will be till 2016 it should have it on launch

So what marine is saying about mantle support is a moot point

I wouldn't say that until I get first hand experience of dx12 performance in that game.

All I said was the circumstance is "worth considering", and yet you somehow already know for sure for and concluded dx12 will deliver what it is said to be able to do without fail, despite we have yet to see it in action for real

Neither you or I know how dx12 will perform in that game, so get off the high-horse I am right you are wrong attitude. The situation of dx12 in SC could potentially be like the situation of BF4 and Mantle, instead of being written as core part of the engine it is being stitch onto it, considering that SC was already long in development before dx12 was even announced.

riiiight, because you have first hand experience of Mantle in that game?

if mantle is "worth considering" then so is DX12, that is all I'm saying, no one can be absolutely right or wrong on a subject that is well over a year away from being examined, so I suggest you take a look in the mirror before throwing insults about
mantle isn't being considered as a core part of the game either - it is going to get added at a later date, same applies to DX12

in fact, what AMD have said is that it will be much easier to port games from Mantle to DX12 than from DX11 to DX12, so if anything working with mantle will improve its chances of working well with DX12... unless AMD are lying?
