GameGPU bench Star Citizen

riiiight, because you have first hand experience of Mantle in that game?

if mantle is "worth considering" then so is DX12, that is all I'm saying, no one can be absolutely right or wrong on a subject that is well over a year away from being examined, so I suggest you take a look in the mirror before throwing insults about
Apple to Orange much?

We've already seen what Mantle is capable of in games under real-world gaming environment, so we would more or less have an idea on what to expect in terms of capability; for dx12, can we say the same? All we've got is the "promise" from MS and a demo.

yeah, and mostly what we see is that outside of extreme crossfire or badly mismatched CPU-GPU configs, mantle offers single digit improvements to FPS

This is actually pretty sad that mantle is even reviewed in this light.

When game developers make a game, they have to set certain limits how much cpu they can stress. Often enthusiasts say that mantle (or dx12) won't be needed because their 8core or 12 core systems can run the game just fine without. That is true (for now), but those 4 thread (4C/4T and 2C/4T) cpu's are already getting 100% cpu utilization in many games. And these are the cpu's that set the cpu budget in game development.

Mantle and DX12 will set that bar higher, but mantle alone can't do it because games have DX11 path keeping that budget low, therefore only benetif you get from mantle now is basicly more "torque" in games that doesn't neccessarily need it.

Remember games are made to work (sell) for everyone, not just for the minority.

Just my 2 cents.

Yeah and once again, you fail to see how mantle..
1. Offers faster, frame latency to offer a smoother gaming experience.
2. Better min frame rate with less drops
3. Did I mention it just feels better?

When will you understand it's not only about the frame rate? Dx avg 71 - mantle avg 65 - mantle looses? No mantle will be the most enjoyable.

P. S random numbering.

The thing I love about the mantle lovers, on benches where it gives a distinct advantage (10-20fps higher lets say) it's all 'mantle is da sheeeet, my 280x keeping up with 780s'

When the avg is lower it's all about the minimums and how goddamn smooth mantles chin is. Gillette.

Its been known for months now that Mantle offers a much better playing experience..
I have said it on here since day one of using Mantle, I have even shown in a thread, users alone have even said...

Its a fact Mantle is the best when it comes to rendering frame rates...

Lol, frame times is FPS.
The bigger the avg FPS the lower the frame times.

No,
See this image, Mantle was only 3fps better over DX on avg

Now look at the render line notice a difference?

Go Away!
If your not going to offer anything to the discussion and instead just put these stupid little digs in a random times..

It's 'you're'.

We're laughing because:

"An intelligence quotient, or IQ, is a score derived from one of several standardized tests designed to assess human intelligence."

Edit: nice ninja on the 'your' :p
