Could a don put up a poll with the following selections:
Wired - ethernet direct to router
Wired - via the mains (homeplug/powerline solution)
Wireless

A question for those of you on wirless or mains solutions:
How do pings and connection stability fare compared to wired connections?

I've always been a FPS player where every little bit of your ping times can make a difference in decent games (cs for example) so i've always strived to stay on a wired connection, but in this day and age is it really needed? Is there a difference?

wired disl in middle of no were , i found 5 years ago or so latency was better maybe because general increase of people using broadband it got higher.

around 40 ~ 50 ms use to be 30 ~ 40 , in evening peek times gets higher, also 5 years or so ago didn't mather if was peek time or not

Currently wireless, I don't really get ping issues, but when i get a new place it will be wired once more. I think it's just habit now, a natural preference for wired.

Powerline, and it's miles better than wireless, i've had no disconnection, packet loss or lag at all.

Get mine through Devolo plugs. Works great. Not as good as having a network cable but the difference is irrelevant.

Wireless is crap.

Able to elaborate on why it's not as good as having direct network cable?

I keep hearing good and bad things about the mains solution but never what brand/model is good to go for or what aspects are bad?
