Gamers Nexus lay into NZXT

Great video, NZXT have been scummy as hell for a while but this is a new low. I'll never touch one of their products (not that I ever have).
I especially like the way GN call out all of the utter brain drain social 'influencers' taking the sponsor dime, without checking what type of product they are spewing out to their equally brain dead followers.....

Terrible situation, some really scummy tactics there.
Although to be fair I did find myself thinking "loads of other companies do that" at quite a few points, not that that's ok.

Who in their right mind rents a second hand PC anyway?

It does seem like madness but equally I know so many people who needlessly choose to 'rent' devices like mobile phones and lease expensive cars (which they couldn't afford to buy outright with a cash or a loan) by paying monthly

So I guess it's no surprise other sectors are trying to promote the same business model!

I don’t mind the exposure, but I always feel they are ‘Sun’-level of journalism… using sensationalist / emotive language all over the place.

They have a vested interest in being all ‘lOoK wHaT wE uNeArThEd’ - just turns me off slightly.

And the whole ‘we have banned them from advertising with us - look at us’ thing. Meh. Just stick to the facts if you’re going to be preaching about journalistic integrity.

I was watching it thinking that renting a pc isn't a bad idea but at what cost is acceptable and should it always be more of a finance option rather than a rent to not own?

I couldn't imagine renting a whole pc to give it back.

I was just eyeing up the h7 flow case too... can I order it and pretend I ordered it before I knew?

Agreed, I don’t watch these videos anymore. In some ways it’s turned me off their channel.

No one is forced in to renting these machines and spending a lot of money surely. It’s like blaming a car dealer for selling expensive car finance. Sure it’s a bit dodgy but they haven’t forced anyone in to buying anything.

isn't this the equivalent of a PCH in vehicular terms?
i would see this as similar to that 20 year old hairdresser driving around in her brand new audi a1
