Gamers, What's Your Audio Set Up?

Are your grilles removable? I have to be able to see the drivers for maximum visual effect at my desk :D Nice though, the Powernode seems to be hugely popular and I never knew of them until last week!

Yeah haha. Quick nude pic. Not quite as visually stunning as those Triangles!

I believe my mate has those or ones like those, Dali from several years ago when he bought my NAD D3020 and needed new speakers. Good sounding speakers too I recall

Shouldn't you toe in those speakers, since you're at an angle of 45 degrees from the speakers?
I reached out to Dali to ask what they think, they replied today (nice and fast!) but yeah said absolutely fine as is, but, don't be afraid to experiment. They said toe in a small amount and see if I prefer the sound or not but they didn't go as far as 45º. The chap said he runs his Oberon 1's toed in just a few centimeters in his office. :) So I might try a little and see how it goes. But they basically said no hard rules to follow with them. Which is nice to know.

I have a pair of Sanyun SW208s connected via 3.5mm to my motherboard, more than happy with them for the £35 I paid. Never use a headset.

I have the following:

Cambridge CXA 80.
Triangle Comete 40th anniversary in Santos Rose Wood.
Dali 8 inch sub that I can't recall the model number of.

Guys I have done something :o

I could not stop thinking about the Triangle Comete 40th Anniversary so on a whim I phoned up Richer Sounds to enquire to see if they had stock, got through to the Cheltenham store and they checked with the supplier as they are special order only. The Rosewood colour I liked is currently in production with a 6 week lead time they said but the Golden Oak is in stock ready for immediate shipping and he could offer me £100 off making them £1399 which is knocking on the door of the B&W 707 S3 - too close to not entertain getting the Triangles in to try out and return the pair that felt the weaker of the two.

So yeah I have these coming in a few days

Interesting specs too, magnesium horn loaded tweeter that doesn't sound like the usual horned ones out there, only 2000 produced, each pair is numbered, natural wood cabinets, made in France, the 40th anniversary is not the same as the normal Comete, little mini docu Triangle did they state that nearly every component was redesigned for this edition.
And what do you think of them? Lovely right?

Installed, look how much bigger the SS3602 is compared to the OPA627, also look at that clearance, didn't need to use the risers

Triangle Comete 40th anniversary in Santos Rose Wood.
 that was my original choice but it's in production with a 6 week lead time so settled for Golden Oak!

How are you finding them assuming you have had them a while?

And what do you think of them? Lovely right?

Incredible sound, there's a level of detail in vocals especially and wind instruments that just tickles your ears as they play or sing and the way it's all presented is almost holographic as if there are speakers all around in front. Those horn tweeters are able to pick out and place individual instruments with incredible precision in space around

I've had mine a little while, two years this year. They are delightful - it's the only word I can think of that explains them.

I had to wait some time for them to be built and then shipped from France - but that was part if it. Not saying speaker made in China are no good but there is something about a speaker made in the factory of the firm. Plus the matching that goes on and the limited edition status. It's arguable if they need a sub - the sub does add to the low end, these only go down to 40hz but that 40 is 100% present. My sub isn't doing a great deal but adds that little presence to the low end.

I can't see me changing them any time soon unless I go for the Antal 40th.....

(I'm the only person to stick a review of them on RS)

Oh good shout, I will put up a review too.

Great to hear though, also the speakers :D

If you have not already then check out Triangle's youtube channel as they have mini videos showing the team and how they make them etc, all hand made so extra special.

The "free" pair they sent me accidentally are being picked up on Friday. At least I can say I once owned two pairs of 40th Cometes :D

Yup from initial chatter I read online many thought it was just a new tweeter with everything else remaining the same, but they actually revised nearly everything even though from afar the 40th looks like the normal Comete.

Also can we briefly discuss how these speakers come packaged? I've never seen a double glazed outer box before, and then each speaker is in its own microfibre pouch, comes with anodised screw in spikes and plates, screw in rubber feet, a 40th anni microfibre cloth :D

What number is your one out of interest? I have 1152.

Sparkos SS3602 are here!

The new OP Amps will take time to settle in. Your speakers and even your new dac/amp will still be settling in also. So you'll have different areas of your audio changing simultaneously. So be aware of this and give things time to settle in before passing judgement on the op-amps.

Yeah what I am hearing right now is enough to know that this matching is something special that is gonna get even better. The speakers are already run in now given how much I have used them and the amp/dac too as my PC is on 24/7.
