Hey guys, Dont't really know where to list this under besides GFX.

I've been using my newly built PC for a few weeks now. everything is working great apart from games crashing etc. Like on FIFA 12(it randomly crashes back to desktop, sometimes which isn't too concerned, I read there could be patch for it)

But Im really iritated with MW3 on steam, I manage to play a few hours and then it shows the iw5sp.exe has stopped working message.
It only happens when its a few hours into it it does feel very warm in it.

I don't think its the graphics card(heard there many issues with e.g driver not responding) It does start the games when I relaunch them. So it's not faulty.

Im thinking if it would be the fans/temperature(haven't tried it at full load).
I have an 80mm exhaust fan and 120 front cooling fan(which Im also planning to replace to more quieter fans)
Any help please?

cheers

Yeh bought it like to months ago, regretted getting this version. will return it for the sapphire one if this one goes out. any1 have any solutions?

2-3 hours in an online game is quite a long time without a crash. I have played most of the cod games competitevely and without fail in every match someone would crash. I was also prone to crashes in cod games when playing for long spells. I have no experience with fifa so cant comment there.

If you rma the card, i doubt they will find fault with it, then you will have to pay the bill to have it sent there and sent back to you, if i am not mistaken.

Ok thanks guess im gonna keep using it until if it does stop working lol.

It also froze a few times when playing had to use task manager to close it.

Do u mean putting the system at full load?

If your card has temp problems, you will know very quickly, 10mins max, if you don't have problems then, you probably wont at all. Furmark puts way more stress on the card than anything else you would normally do.

You definitely want to turn on as much anti-aliasing as it allows and make sure the test is run at your gaming resolution. You may want to turn "Xtreme burn-in" on but I've not used Furmark in a while so don't know if that's quite as safe and sensible as I believe it to be or not.

If it gets through 10-20 minutes of that without the temperatues getting into the danger zone (I think we're talking 80+ degrees) then you're fine and even if it JUST touches that zone, you're probably alright given that furmark is likely to put much more stress on the card than a game would. If you don't get any crashes or temperature issues....well deal with that if you get past this.

I've just tried and no issues whatsoever, however I have recently had a video hardware error would that relate to the GPU??. I want to return the card but I don't know if that classed as faulty since it still runs my games despite crashes to desktop and game errors coming up.

Yes a video hardware error would be related to the GPU. What sort of temperatues were you getting under FurMark?

I wonder if, and this is a shot in the dark, there's a problem after two or three hours of heavy usage due to some of the memory on the card being susceptible to problems because its slightly defective. I could be taking out of my rear with that one and it would be tough to prove through an RMA anyway.

Did the other thread about problems with VTX cards not shed any sort of light?
