Games to Look Forward to in 2023?

Stalker, but i thought it was supposed to be 2022 release.

I thought it was delayed because the devs are Russian or something

GSC Gameworld are based in Kyiv, Ukraine so for obvious reasons STALKER 2 is delayed.

Although have just searched and looks like devolpment has resumed with the team relocating to Czech Republic.

For me, STALKER 2 is the only game that i'm looking forward to.

Find as I'm getting older I've lost the desire to try and get through the learning curve of new games, so pretty much just play CSGO every evening.

Stalker 2 is the only guaranteed buy for me, the last insta buy was Resi 2 remake!

The original style Stalker learning curve is what keeps me interested in some games now. It's the hand holdy full bells and whistles games that put me off gaming. I first played Stalker in 2019, and it's one of my favourites today.

Tempest Rising i'm intrigued by. I love old C&C, but i should really just play some of the old RTS greats i never did play.

I now realise how contradictory the bottom of my first post was haha!

Weirdly despite me not having the time or inclination to sit and learn new games, which I think stems from trying to find a game that doesn't hold you hand but goes in the complete opposite direction and I choose a game that takes hours and hours to even grasp the basics.

I remember being excited for STALKER from an issue of PC Gamer back in 2004-2006 era, I was there for all the massive delays of the original so now the true sequel is being delayed i'm fine to wait

Your post did read strangely, but i did get your point :)
I think it comes down to just being tired of poo or average (in our opinion) games, and just wanting something we can click with. Not having to waste what little gaming time we have. I'm happy to pay more for games, i just can't be bothered to try and find them. Steam reviews are useless, outside of a few well written ones you get, so my purchases are few and far between.

Diablo IV
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Final Fantasy XVI
Dead Space Remake
Street Fighter VI
Resident Evil 4
System Shock Remake
Starfield
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Assassins Creed Mirage
Suikoden I & II Remaster
Baldurs Gate 3

Nice list there. Seems we are into similar games. Here is mine:

Starfield
STALKER 2
Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty
System Shock Remake
Undisputed
Resident Evil 4
Silent Hill 2
Tekken 8
Street Fighter VI
Terminator Dark Fate - Defiance
Baldurs Gate 3

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom - Already preordered for the Switch

These two won’t be on PC next year I don’t think but they are defo on my list:

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Final Fantasy XVI

Not all the games on my list are a must buy on release. Some are wait and see reviews and others are wait for price to drop significantly. For example Baldurs Gate 3 I am in no rush for and happy to wait for price to come down a lot.

I want to get hyped for Stalker 2 but it has tons of red flags. I think Dead Island 2 will be fun. Wukong could be good. Pragmata looks cool but again no gameplay and no idea what its about.
