No One Lives Forever 1 & 2.
Really enjoyed both of those games, but 1 will look very dated now as it's a DX7 game, 2 will look a bit better as it's DX8.

They're most easily described as a first person shooter with Austin Powers humour, but the main character can level up so technically it's more of an RPG.

Ai ai ai! How can this thread have got so long without anyone mentioning Planescape: Torment? It could have been written by a published author, except you have control of how you unfold the tale. I have such great memories of that game.
