Games with great intros/opening scenes

The Last of Us, of the games I've played recently.

Hooked after 3 minutes.

This. The opening to the game was excellent, it really drew me in and I spent quite some time admiring all the little details Naughty Dog had thrown in :p

Portal 2
TES IV: Oblivion

Some of the others I'd say were spectular already got mentioned (like The Last of Us and the first 10 minutes of playing), couldn't see these two mentioned though. Portal 2's was superb technically and funny, Oblivion's still gives me nerd chills :p

in terms of graphical excellence I must hand it to the witcher 2, I spent the first minute or so torn between it being cgi or live action.

tes4 because Patrick stewart

don't shout at me for this but MOH frontline, for being as far as I know the best representation of a 'yeah we're gonna die here' scene.

crysis one was good and civ iv
Red alert 2! hell march!! - i remeber seeing the terror drone run past and wondered what it was!

good thread..brings back memories

I know probably no one here has played Suikoden III because it wasn't released in Europe, but it remains one of my most favourite opening intro's.

Loved this game. You play out the same story as 3 main and completely different characters but shown from their own point of view. You also get to play out the story from a neutral side-characters point of view, AND if you do well, you get to see the story from the "bad guys" point of view at the end.

Amazing game, and I have now made myself want to play through it again :p
