Games you Bought and played Once

Most of the games I own.

+1 but not due to not liking it. Just that I haven't got round to playing it properly, and I keep playing the same games.

My biggest annoyance is L4D2.. I have 200+ hours on L4D1, but L4D2 I've only played 35 hours on it (I know that's not exactly 'played once' but hey), despite buying on preorder for £20+ :/ I didn't even start playing it 'properly' until a few months after it was released and by then you could get it for like a tenner or something.

I once rented Rise of the Robots and felt totally ripped off. :p

I bought it, then proceeded to play it loads, in order to try and justify saving up and buying it. Probably the biggest let down of my entire life.

I'm quite selective as to what i play but there have been a few exceptions:

Dungeon Siege - Just got boring really.

Chaser.. Something else came along and never finished.

Tomb Raider... Anniversary, same as above.

That's about it really.

Are we talking about games you have only completed once or just tried the once for like the first mission and never went back?

Only completed once then theres quite a lot. if its installed and tried then never returned to then:
Condemned: Criminal Origins - thought it was ok but the tramp battery got a bit samey after a while.
X3 - Played for a few hours wandering around figuring out what to do but just found it so dull. Not for me. Gave it another go about a week later because of its glowing reputation but it was just a none started and havnt been back since.
AvP (new one) - bought for the multiplayer mainly but thought I would give the SP a shot first and it was jsut soulless and overly shiny, MP was buggy and near impossible to get a decent connection which meant I just got fed up fast.

Edit: Will also add the first Mass Effect to the list. Played it for a good few hours, got a blue lass as a new member. Went for a meal with some mates and just couldnt bring myself to start it again. Just didnt grab me in the slightest, would be playing it because others say its good rather than actually enjoying it. Might get around to it again when I have some spare days as its easily my type of game but it all just seemed a bit 'ok fair enough'.

Op Flashpoint : Red River - I got it free.. Tried it out... its horrendous.

Dragon Rising for me, in fact I never opened the case or removed the plastic wrap, I pirated it whilst waiting for my delayed copy but my god, after that I never touched it. I should have returned it and got my money back but forgot :(

I believe it's due for burnination by home made thermite.

Fuel - mostly because it was poor and pretty much all my driving games although Dirt2 lasted longer than all the others.

Mass Effect 1 and 2 - just not my cup of tea although I can appreciate that others absolutely love it.

Rainbow 6 Vegas.

Worms Reloaded - as another said earlier, I thought it would rekindle the spirit that there once was attached to that game, but alas I just couldn't stick with it. Completed the campaign but that was pretty much it.

Metro - not because it wasn bad, it was quite interesting, but I find that I lose patience with new things and go back to old favourites such as BFBC2.

C&C4, C&CRA3, GTA4, AvP...

To name but a few.

Oh, and Railworks! (it was a drunken purchase and was fun for 5 minutes).

off the top of my head:

Far Cry 2
Metro 2033
Crysis 2 (was just to test my new Sandybridge rig with really)
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (looks a good game and probably is a good game but I just couldn't get into it)
GRID
UT2003

assassins creed
cod4 (pc)
Burnout paradise (admittedly thats not having w7 on my mac till recently)
Garrys mod
l4d2 - the first one was awesome, the day light killed this one
Tales of monkey island series was rubbish :(
Dragon age

L4d2, bought it on steam when it was on offer, played once then forgot about. Others are mafia 2 and assasins creed.
