Games you hate, but everyone else loves.

most console games ****es and bores me to death e.g Halo saga, all RPGs
Bioshock etc etc
except driving games/sport games and some fight games not SF4 too much.
Games like fahrenheit heavy rain and Allen Wake should be more common
I like these adult themed thriller games I guess they take too damn much time to make.

in 1997? :p there are some people older than 18 on here you know

J isnt wrong though, the thing about goldeneye is that for some reason the multiplayer not only appealed to the masses but actually appealed to non-gamers, we had an N64 in our common room back in errrr 2002 ish and people would constantly play 4player split screen and usually rope in non-gamers and even girls! Even my current GF who doesnt game per-sey has actual strategies for goldeneye like those of any seasoned DM-er. Goldeneye was just a good shooter, to hardcore shooter fans at the time. but you ask most 17-26 yr olds who dont game properly what game they think was best and a heck of a lot will say goldeneye because it was the first time they truly enjoyed competetive gaming.

Back OT for me its
Madden
Halo
Any fighting game

Speaking of which and derailing things again, on the topic of streetfighter and the whole 'why isnt it 3D?' thing, i hate the game with a passion but i totally get why streetfighter 4 is so popular and why it should be a simple 2D fighter, its a very pure arcade fighter thats been refined greatly over time and rather than do what other games have and add bits year on year until its an ungodly and inaccessible sprawling behemoth, they have refined it down to a pure skill based 1on1 game, which is why im bad at it and thus hate it to death!

JRPGs.
Uncharted.
Gears of War.
Resident Evil in all it's various incarnations, in fact survival horror in general.

ARMA 2
Bioshock
Enemy Territory Quake Wars really got my goat!

There are loads, but I won't mention them here as I'll probably recycle them and give them to my brothers for Xmas gifts.

Looking forward to getting into Fallout 3, especially that the game of the year version has been released with all the expansions. Don't fail me!

I don't want your second hand cast offs!:D:rolleyes:

Dead Rising - One game a lot of friends said is fantastic. Got it sent from GameFly, played it for about an hour and sent it back. Love the idea of using almost any object to kill zombies (golf club to the head with projectile blood was epic) but everything else sucked. Limited save points (who in the hell runs to the toilet to sleep and thus saves the game?!). Time limited completion. Retarded AI. Inconsistent controls (Look at a zombie, aim the gun and it aims you at the celing for no reason) and when you die, up yours do it again (go back to the last save).

Just.....Why?

Left 4 Dead for me, Bought it when it was on offer a few weeks ago, and I find it to be the most bland game ever, waste of my £14!

..annd Civilization, Ever since the second one, Ive tried to like them so much, Its just not happening.

GTA, never got into the series, or the concept of the game since i grew out of running around shooting things from GTA:london

also RE4 & 5 tried RE4 on both PS2 and Wii and the controll system didnt seem to work for me with the 3rd person view.

finally Bioshock, very repetative, played through for a while enjoying it and it seemed to start really well and be such a dissapointment just after i got into it.

i hate these games

GTA 4
FIFA 10
FALLOUT 3
OBLIVION
JUST CLAUSE
MASS EFFECT
GITAR HERO

all terrible games

good games for example

BIOSHOCK
DEAD SPACE
PROTOTYPE
XMEN ORIGINS
SAINTS ROW 2
PRINCE OF PERSIA
CALL OF DUTY
SPLINTER CELL
TOMB RAIDER
BURNOUT PARADISE

I'm amazed at the amount of people saying Bioshock! I think it's one of the most immersive game environments ever with fantastic audio and visuals, I also love the combat and range of plasmids.

Here are my choices:

Halo - I always thought the level design was boring and generic, the enemies always seemed weak and annoying, the weapons were like water pistols.
Resident Evil 4 - I've never appreciated the change in control and gameplay from the first 3 RE's, I think it was a logical step to make the change from explore/puzzle/mediocure combat to a more action focused game, but I think I miss the intregue and feeling some of the original games created, I must have been about 12 when RE2 came out, playing the opening was fantastic, running through the streets avoiding zombies, then finally getting to the police station, so awesome.

I don't hate it but uncharted, it's heavily over rated based on having nice graphics and some well done cut scenes alone. The first one in particular had no multiplayer, a short single player that was also linear and nothing new or interesting to make it worth while yet it's THE game that you can't insult. Never mind being linear, tomb raider with a guy, an annoying lead (don't like Drake) and being generally just a higher budget version of other games. You can't insult PS3 exclusives without the fanboyish attitude spewing out from it's audience but if you want to slander Crack down, Halo, Gears or whatever they act as if it's meant to be done.

I actually do hate no games this gen though as there's not been anything that bad but street fighter did annoy me with Seth being the last boss. I enjoyed the game up to him and then he ruined it completely. I bought it as a casual thing since I like fighters but no way do I plan on mastering every charatcer so I can beat Seth with them just to unlock others.
