I read a piece on the great Rock Paper Shotgun but a bit late so thought I would shamelessly copy their idea :)

https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/have-you-ever-played-a-game-for-500-hours

Games you've invested >500 hours in

Quake II CTF - 3 years.. :) dunno hours, but it was a lot. bind x use grapple
L4D2 - 2572 hours, good time was had by all.
TF2 800 hours of playing Medic, until I reset my stats to try and get the ubersaw (it didnt work, I got it eventually), 1001 hours after that
Age of Empires II 501 hours? lol dunno but I should add it to my list even though its pre steam. It's such a good game it was sold 3 times on steam; original, HD (2013) and Definitive (2019), and then 2021 called AoE4 lol
L4D1 - 903 hours baring in mind this game was pretty much dead once 2 came out 12 months later and we didn't buy it right away is fairly impressive :)
..next one down is a mere 182 hours Devil Daggers.

I don't know the hours played but for these games it's bound to be over 500 hours
Counter strike many years ago.
Bf 1942/vietnam/bf2/bf3
Eve-online
Ever Quest 2
Warhammer MMO (probably)
World of Warcraft
World of tanks
world of Warships
Project Torque (before it got region locked and they stopped EU playing on the NA server )

Notable mentions
Crusader kings2 - 223.7 hours
Faeria 279.3hours
Fishing Planet 134.1

erm IDK if this is true unless steam somehow knows how much I played it on a tablet when commuting, it's the same account but it didn;t go through steam

I'm just going to mention my steam list. There are other games I've spent countless hours on, but can't give you an exact number.
World of Warcraft, Anarchy Online, Minecraft, Battlefield series and Call of Duty. Plus many others I can't remember.

Day of Defeat
Counter-Strike (probably - it feels like a lot more than 500 hours but I don't have a track of it)
Quake 2
Quake 3
COD4
COD:MW2
City of Heroes
Eve Online
The Division

Some of those are way over 500 hours - some in excess of 10,000 hours.

Probably a few I've forgotten now.

Quakeworld
Quake 3 Arena
Counter Strike
Counter Strike Source
Counter Strike Global Offensive
Dota 2
Neverwinter Nights
World of Warcraft
Lineage II
Diablo 3
Call of Duty Warzone

Probably a few more from back in the day like maybe Civ2, Elite 2 or even Street Figher 2 :)

Eve Online (many thousands of hours)
WoW (as above, many thousands of hours)
Guild Wars 1 & 2 (about 3500hrs combined)
Elite: Dangerous
The Division 1& 2
Diablo 3
Anthem
Star Wars: Battlefront II

Forgot about Diablo and Guild Wars - Diablo 1 was probably about 200 hours though, GW must have been around 500.

Euro Truck Simulator 2: 2,224 hours.
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth: 1,549 hours.
American Truck Simulator: 866 hours.

Not a game, but I have 1,074 hours in Blender.

Mine's Unreal Tournament 3.
I didnt actually play it that much, I was actually in the editor for that amount of time (I used to be a developer for UT Jailbreak)

Ooof I don't want to think how much time I've spent in stuff like QE/GTKRadiant (Quake editor), etc. and other similar tools.

Sometimes the editor is more fun than actually playing the game :)

Indeed - I get a lot of amusement from modding and map making for Quake 2 to this day - almost 25 years :s

I miss COD4 mapping as well - they had some nice features which were fun to play around with design wise - sadly the actual process of scripting, compiling and packaging the map into something the game could load and play was utterly pants on head silly and killed a lot of the motivation to actually produce a working map.

At work so from top of my head:

Rimworld - still playing and can't see me stopping anytime soon
Lord of the Rings Online
Elder Scrolls Online
Rocket League (I'll check after work to make sure - few hours short)

Others that I likely spent that amount of time playing when I was younger
Fallout 1 & 2
Diablo 1 & 2
Baldur's Gate (just the first one, never could get into the 2nd)
Test Drive Unlimited - bought my first driving wheel for this, just loved cruising around
