GameWorks and TreeFX we testing these Wrong!

Now the other thread are great for finding out the performance impact but they don't tell the full story.

You should be looking at is the Image Quality you get from these worth the performance impact?

Lets start with TressFX is the hair change worth it? I would say so.

Is PhysX smoke in Batman worth it? again I would say so even if it is abit over done.

Now back to Gameworks, is things like Godrays worth it? Not a chance.

We could do this for all of the GameWorks effects and you will find they do nothing to what we already have in games and are just adding ontop more performance impact for no real gain in IQ..

So what you are effectively saying is NVidia effects are not worth it and AMD ones are. Now there's a surprise, I would have never seen that coming.

Lara's hair is so sharp it actually cuts through her shoulders and neck. Constantly happening and a real gripe for me.

Yeah that is a glitch that does happen but I would still use it over being switch off. It does make the game more enjoyable. Am sure if you look enhough in batman PhysX effect can also sometimes go pear shaped. Does the smoke always work correctly?

I have always been a big proponent of TressFX and think it is great. I am also a big proponent of GameWorks and all the subtleties it brings from smoke to HBAO+

Genuinely I want to see these techs pushed and don't take this the wrong way anyone please but if you don't have a machine capable of running things from TressFX to PhysX, deal with it! I want both Nvidia and AMD viaing for my money by putting more attention to detail.

And that is great and all I do agree more effect is always better for the gamer. My problem like I keep trying to point out is when effects are used and hurt performance but also add very little. Look at Ultra vs Low on FC4 and FallOut 4 and tell me the truth worth it?
Same with HBAO+ vs HDAO am sure I remember a game using both but I can't remember it.

Yeah.. You hit the nail on the head. This what I been saying for ages Gameworks effects add nothing new and hurt performance. I just don't understand why they do this.

So did tressfx, they both hurt performance but you would think only gameworks does.

See again you not getting what am saying so until you understand I would not bother replaying.

Does TressFX add something over no TressFX? Yes is they a difference? Yes

Does god rays add something over what we already have had? No

See interactive screenshot posted in OP from nvidia they is nothing in it from ultra to low, yet the performance is shocking.
Not tell me the truth is the trade of really worth it? Lol

Is the trade off worth it on tomb raider with TressFX? Yes Does it look much different over having it switched off? Yes again.

This isn't me just sticking up for amd either I know you would think I am. I have already stated that I like Physx been a fan for years of the tech.
