GameWorks and TreeFX we testing these Wrong!

Maybe they have an internal software stack relating to housekeeping for all the scripting/quest/interactions/relationships/etc and didn't want to port it.

Cryengine and Creation both use Lua tho.

I see this as a simple thing but from two directions.

1. If you have a GFX card which runs this game with the FX on and you are happy with the performance, then that's great. If not then turn the FX off or lower them.

2. It really is a poor display from Bethesda that this game is on such an old engine (tweaked admittedly, but undeniably old). They have a big fanbase with the Fallout games and I really was expecting a new engine to go with the 4 for this franchise. Smacks of laziness by the developer.

Unfortunately it is what it is and some of those bugs may never be sorted for some people. But the only way to solve this is to stop buying games of this shoddy quality (From what I have seen from videos, the graphics arent really up to much as far as some other titles go).

However, having said all of that my lad has said that he wants to buy this with his birthday money.....so I will get to see what it performs like first hand and make my own mind up (He has my old 280X).
:)

Yea, and they look subpar compared to what we have now.

The Xray engine (STALKER games) did very high quality godrays 8 years ago that easily equal what I'm looking at right now in FO4. Very demanding at the time, but I doubt a modern GPU would even notice turning them on.

I tend to agree with the sentiment that GW features are too costly in terms of performance compared to similar features implemented elsewhere.
