Gaming Desks!

Anyone else got any pictures of the Jonas and Mikael? Would also be cool to know if you can switch the drawer to either side on the Jonas. Cheers.

I got a 2m bench from ikea http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50103604 and some legs which cost about £35 in total. Brilliant. Room for everything! I also got some cheap sets of drawers to go under each side and I've got myself room for everything I could need.

Mate you're a genius. Finding a 2m wide desk is so difficult (if anyone else has seen one, do tell). But, its not very wide at 60cm :( . Current desk is 70cm and I'd like moar! How do people find keyboard pull out jobby-dooder solutions? I'm sure I've seen pics of people's desks on these forums where they have a pull-out but the mouse/keyboard is sat on the desk anyway...

EDIT: Oh and if you could post a pic of your desk (or email me one) that'd be fandabidoza.

I got a £38 Ikea Mikael this week and it is great. In the past I had one for about £69 from Argos, it was very plain and simple but massive and sturdy. I recommend Ikea ones though, Mikael or Jonas.

What's the oak jonas desk like? Is it quite dark, light or natural? Does it look "rustic" and "antique-y"? I need a desk and that jonas desk looks perfect, so simple, but it needs to match the rest of the front room, colour-wise at least.

note the jonas is veneer, so not solid birch. Yet still a very nice desk, getting that this easter!

Love the look of the F1 but over £500 on a desk!?!?!

That's the oak one. If you need anymore photos just ask.

The Jonas desk, can you change what side the drawers are on?

I'm pretty sure you can have it on either side.

This is what it looks like:

Edit: Beaten.

if your looking for a sturdy desk and with the original budget of up to £300, and are looking for a little extra style, i think a Georgian style desk like the one below could work a treat. great stability, plenty of space and the comfort of the leather top, you could feel hte ruler of all gaming. Downsides are its not a style that would suit all and with ikea's price competition thats £200 you could spend on better hardware. its something im gunna look into more over the summer.

its an option :)

IKEA Mikale desk. £40 off ebay. Glass top, massive desk, backpiece with magnetic board. Perfect!

Also IKEA leather office chair. Very comfy!

I bought my desk off homeofficeworld.co.uk, and the cheapest set of draws I could find from argos in the same colour (maple £20). It fits 2x 20" monitors and my xbox nicely:

I like it, where can you buy it and can it be delivered?

I am in the process of building my desk.

It's not the worlds most involved design, but I haven't done any woodwork since school and getting the joints right and the whole thing level was quite difficult believe it or not!

I could have probably bought one similar but I like my desks to be quite deep and the space I had to put it was quite narrow so was finding it difficult to get one that was suitable.

Anyway, some rubbishy iphone pics:

The top is just MDF, so (since taking these) have added rounded beading around the edge and painted it with an acrylic paint. The pine frame and legs have been waxed.

Sure its not much, but I'm really proud of it!

Will upload some more recent pics later.
