Gaming , going back!

Yie Ar Kung Fu-Spectrum 48 mid eighties?

Surprised you said spectrum, me and my mates at the time used to argue which computer had the better fighting game - Amstrad with Yi Ar Kung Fu or Spectrum with Way of the Exploding Fist.

Loved them both but Way of the Exploding Fist had excellent realism, felt more like a sim than a general arcadey fighting game. (20 years later and I still can't let it lie!)

Here's a question , if you think of a Retro game from your growing up what's the first game that pops into your head?

The old arcade shooter 1942:

Spent far too many hours in a caravan sites pub playing the game during summer holidays. :)

It has to be Smurfs on the atari 2600 as this is the first game I can remember playing in 86/87.

I loved the music & sound effects then and I still do. :D

Yi Ar Kung Fu had a great tune, thats what made me remember playing it years ago. Ding, ding da ding a ding ding...

Fave, most entertaining fighting game on Speccy was Renegade...it's on Youtube. Class, class game, oh and you could kneee the Ladies of the Night on third level too (Even thoough they had no plumbing!)!!!

The end boss was tough (only dude with a gun).

P.S The 128 k version of the game came with an extra level and better music I recall.

No idea what it's called, but it was an extremely old star wars space battle game. I remember playing it loads at my grandad's house with a joystick; fun times.

Oldest games I can remember are Lazy Jones(?), Booty and Raid Over Moscow on the C64. Spent many an hour on the latter. :p

I have a fully functional Amstrad CPC464 with 64K RAM pack and loads of games on tape ;)

Love Dizzy games! Wish they'd remake them!

Last Ninja 2 on C64 was awesome. I loved R-Type on the ST too. Jesus, I feel old.

Loved my Amiga. Far from my first computer but tought me so much, and gaming was heaven on there.

Supercars and Supercars 2 - me vs mate - superb.
Dragons Lair and Space Ace for non-std disk-swapping mayhem.
Cyclone copiers (and making money building them).
Coding demos for groups.

Great days....

im only 20 so my favourite games will seem young compared to most here, but the ones that rocked my socks was Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Zero Wing and Alien Storm for the sega mega drive, along with most mega drive games, one of the great consoles!
