Gaming Headset advice....

I was in the same boat a few days ago. I have been using the AKG702 with a modmic which unfortunately has now stopped working. I purchased a Zalman ZMMIC1 clip on Mic which was ok but I got fed up of keep clipping it on, then forgetting to take it off when I left my desk to see it ping off across the room :)

So I purchased the Sennheiser GSP 500 open back headset for £99 and I have to say, i'm really impressed with it. People I game with said the MIC is so much better now. I am using it through a Soundblaster G6 and I can't fault it. It has a volume control on the side of the right earpiece and the MIC mutes when you raise it up which is a great touch. All reviews I have seen have been positive. The GSP 600 is also available for around £169 which is the closed back version.

I prefer open back design for greater soundstage when gaming, I find it helps pinpoint footsteps etc. For the money, I think it's great.

It is a 3.5mm connector for Headphones and Mic and also comes with a 4 pole cable to join the headphone and mic connector so it can be used on consoles I believe.

Sweet they actually look pretty decent, going to look into those, Yea I have the zalman mic, decent for 6quid but its annoying and clips all broken. Wondering why all the gaming ones are closed back when semi open is better for foot steps right?

Cheers

Nice, imagine you will be getting some new earpads too for about £20 unless you fancy someones elses skin and earwax on you :p

Either way, good purchases for £105

Oh I see now, on scan for £60.
I am a bit picky since someone else's ears has been on them, I don't mind paying more for new. Could have corona in the pads(is that A ban-able comment :D).
Can you comment on the condition and if you can tell they have been used before, I take it no new pads with the refurb as standard, unless reported fault on return?

Nice deal on the mic though.

These units have been supplied as B-Grade stock directly from AKG's Distributer. They have been graded and evaluated by our team and judged to be excellent condition. There may be extremely minor cosmetic imperfections to the headphones or damage to the outer packaging, but have no significant signs of use - 6 Month Warranty

Should be clean if no significant signs of use...
If not they'll be going back

Guess not, I expect them to be like new I suppose, see what turns up

Bgrade doesn't aways mean they've been used, could be cosmetic imperfections, damage etc...

Seems bgrade doesn't mean they've been used... If so very little, still had the plastic wrap on the earphone surrounds
Ordered 3pm Saturday, delivered pre 12 Monday, made up with my purchase
