Gaming Keyboard Recommendations

I have a G15rev1, it's very overpriced for a keyboard but I must admit I do use the LCD a lot (for monitoring cpu usage etc) and the jogwheel for volume is cool.
Bit overkill though, I've never used the macrokeys for example.

My biggest gripe is the USB hub only being 1.1 and (perhaps understandably as it isn't externally powered) fact that a lot of devices can't get enough power through it.

I've got a G19....which I have done bugger all set up on and use it as, err, a keyboard. I always been a sucker for tech, with the patience of someone with no patience to set it all up!

X4, ive had most of the gaming keyboards around and most are actually pap to type with when not gaming. x6 has bad ghosting.

+1 for G11/15/19. I have a G11 and yes it's big so make sure it will fit on your desk before you buy. The build quality is very good and the keys feel very nice and responsive, the media controls are good for music mostly. I'm sure the display on G15/19 is useful too however I haven't tried them so can't say. I just can't justify the price yet :p Maybe next time I spill water on my keyboard :o (what happened to my old G11)

I would probably get one of those if it wasn't for the stupid key layout.

Mechanical keys is where it's at.

they have another one slightly different layout

I have this:

About 8 quid and its full of win. Its a slim keyboard and because of this the key travel is very small. I really dont like massive keys that you have to press about a foot into the keyboard before the keystroke registers. I had a cyborg for a while but it was just pants, massive keys and just too much shinny shinny.

My slimline hiper (the pic) broke last week and they don't make it any more. Been looking for a <£20 replacement for it that has those flat keys, isn't rubbish and has decent cursor keys (leftie :p). Can get used to typing quickly on big keys but just played a game of tf2 there and I was kept hitting keys by mistake everywhere.

By far the best keyboard I've used, be it for gaming or typing in general is... the standard Apple chiclet one.

I've had plenty, from the old mechanical IBMs, Saiteks, MS etc. and none are as nice to use.

Filco do a bog standard UK layout with different types of cherry MX switches.

I've got a full size filco with brown switches and its perfect for gaming and typing.

one happy sidewinder x6 owner, lovely typing feel, 30 macro keys, media keys at the top and better than generic blue red illumination.

also ignore pics, the uk layout has a return key the size of a flight deck.
