Gaming Keyboard Recommendations

Like a few others in this thread I really don't like having to push the keys down particularly far for it to register.

I've got a wired Apple keyboard which I think is wonderful, no one else I know seems to agree with me though. :p

It's all down to personal preference I suppose, but I just could never justify the cost of a gaming keyboard enough to change from this one, plus I love it too much, lovely to type with whether it's gaming or work.

Anyone know why OcUK has such a poor selection of gaming keyboards now? Seems that a few months ago there were so many more to choose from. Is there going to be some new releases soon or something?

I don't mean to diss ocuk, it's my favourite shop and It's the only place I spend all my money since their delivery and Customer service + forums can't be beaten, just curious in general, thinking of buying a new keyboard in a few months.

Are they keys on that like laptop keys?

Like this. (excuse the bad photo)

My slimline hiper (the pic) broke last week and they don't make it any more. Been looking for a <£20 replacement for it that has those flat keys, isn't rubbish and has decent cursor keys (leftie :p). Can get used to typing quickly on big keys but just played a game of tf2 there and I was kept hitting keys by mistake everywhere.

you want a logitech UltraX - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-106-LG&groupid=702&catid=23&subcat=2

laptop-style keys in a full-size layout. it doesn't get any better.
stocked by OcUK on my request :D

Microsoft wireless keyboard 7000. Got the laptop style keys, nice and slim and stylish as hell! :)
Got mine with the mouse for £40 new! Replaced the mouse with roccat kone but the keyboard is still my fave in a longtime.

Personally I use the Razer tarantula, its ok, but I don't like it as much as my old G12 (RIP, beer + keyboard = dead) - buttons are a little less defined, though getting used to it! Possibly not a 'value' keyboard though. My vote is for the G11, seems to be the replacement for the one I had.

Having said that, my mate just got a G19 (too much money!) and that thing is mental! Full LCD screen, watch youtube vids on (why you would ever want to is beyond me) and can change the backlight to ANY colour you want! Overkill much?!

Agree with "Analog", Filco keyboard with brown or black mechanical MX switches that are plate mounted. The quality of build blows away most other modern keyboards.

I have this:

<picture removed, Logitech K300>

About 8 quid and its full of win. Its a slim keyboard and because of this the key travel is very small. I really dont like massive keys that you have to press about a foot into the keyboard before the keystroke registers. I had a cyborg for a while but it was just pants, massive keys and just too much shinny shinny.

That was looking promising until I saw the size of the left Alt and Cntl keys. Plus that orange key stuffed next to Windows key would make it a pain for playing MMO's using multiple hotbars, requiring Alt + number, or Control + number for functions. Especially as I'm clumsy enough with thumb hitting Windows key as it is.

I've had a G15(rev 1) since they came out , great keyboard that you can see in the dark, lcd can be useful and it's got loads of spare keys to program. Just the silly 1.1 usb ports let it down

Agree :)

Been using a Raptor Gaming K1 for around 5 years, you can't beat Cherry MX Black switches.
