Gaming Moments You Will Never Forget:

Getting many a headshot in a row on RB6:vegas a couple nights ago when the whole enemy team kept coming through the same door every single time.

Also the feeling when you kill a person in the round that is blabbing on about how good they are. (ahhh the satisfaction).

The final boss on BG&E, once i finally completed the Left-Right, Right-Left part. Gosh that felt awesome! And the bit after the credits... oooh scary!
Playing my fave map, fy_iceworld, on CS 1.6, and four CTs came round the corner. I just had the pistol, but killed them all with headshots.
My first Zombie in Half-Life & Half-Life 2
The dogs from Resident Evil
That final decision on Deus Ex
The intro to Brothers In Arms 1
Completing Oblivion, with the AWESOME CUTSCENE at the end
Coming out of the caves in Far Cry
The Holy Hand Grenade on Worms. Nuff said.

On GPL online, doing the nurburgring, staying side by side with someone for roughly a minute. One of the most tense moments I have had when playing a game. Such a close race that was, had to be going 100% all the way through that race.

CSS: Storming ct spawn on a custom map with an m249 on a 64 man server and killing 28 players before getting spotted XD

kingdom hearts: beating the last boss, was shaking.

ffx2: completed the story correctly, good ending

doom/lemmings: for some reason i love these games, still do

ocarina of time: after completing it 3 times, on the 4th time i got everything right, still proud that i managed to do that

hl2: was blown away at the level of detail in this game and the combines futuristic look

Thief 3: The Cradle. Need I say more? The scariest, most exquisitely-crafted level in gaming history, bar none. And I'm massively into my scary games (System Shock 2/Resident Evil series/Doom3/F.E.A.R.)! I ghosted the rest of the game, but not The Cradle. I was so scared it was affecting me physically: I was hand-eye losing coordination, and lurching around the level in a blind panic looking at the ceiling, the floor, any which way except at what was following me... I made a little circle out of some mines at one point so I could crouch in the middle and take a breather.

Ain't that the truth! The best level ever, never had a reaction like that out of a game, FEAR came close but that was the best.

I love the feeling from completing a game but nowadays it isn't the same with save games etc, you can just complete a game over and over if you like by replaying your last save. A real test though is the likes of Bubble Bobble where you had to slog though hours of play to get to the end and if you screwed it up you knew that was an entire evening wasted (bar some experience!).

God, words cant describe how unique Planetside was/is. Its by far my best online experience, and I actually look back on it with butterflys in my stomach and a tear in my eye. It was fantastic. I wish they would make Planetside 2!

Paul

My sentiments exactly! :toast:

Though I didn't think much of Aftershock, to be honest. The gameplay dynamic of such an epic competitive game was hard enough to balance without throwing anime mecha in there.

To this day, whenever I hear the opening/Sanctuary music play (it's still the backing track on the PS website), it makes my heart stir. :D

Can't say much for fear of spoiling, but my God, yes! It wasn't a matter of simply wanting to play the game / see the good ending. After the end of FFX, I needed it. FFX2 gave a generation of gamers chance to come to terms with a massive bereavement :D

Me too. But I was doing it the NCC-1701 way. ;) still great fun.

Best highscore battle: Centipede (the orange and black screen version)
Best story experience: Deux Ex

having no save games all the way through half life (1) in hard mode, just using quick saves and accidentally pressed F5 instead of F9 when I fell off a jump pad in the zen world.

OOPS! I punched my monitor then neally throw it out the window

Running Grand Prix Legends for the first time, and realising just what a giant leap it was from everything that had come before it.

Winning my first full GP length race in GPL.

Playing David Ahl's BASIC translation of the 8x8 grid Star Trek game - the first computer game I ever played. Still have the book with the code for it, still have a computer somewhere that runs 8K BASIC!

Hehe - I think I played for Z in that game! Was the next game on The Pits and much closer? I was [Z]Orchid back then. I then played for [ACE] before joining SEX for Q3A - where I stayed until they broke up. I remember when Misty was a super-HPB.....he would be pinging 250ms and still thrashing everybody :)

Here ya go - the Wireplay forum archive. There's stuff on there from 1998...

Just been reading some of my old threads on the wireplay forums.

Seems so long ago, was always involved with the different gaming communities.
These days I can't even be bothered to say "Hello" when I join a server :p

Just a few off the top of my head. A lot of others have been posted already.

Leaving Lave space station for the first time in ELITE on the BBC B.

Seeing Shadow of the Beast running on the Amiga for the first time, just stunning.

First time i heard a computer speak "Another visitor, stay a while, stay forever ..."

Getting killed just before entering the final cave on Sabre Wulf after collecting all 4 pieces of the amulet. The game as to just rub it in came up with you have successfully completed 99% of the game. I was so angry i never played the game again until recently when i found a decent remake for PC.

The final choice in Blood Omen : Legacy of Kain.

HAS EVERYONE FORGOTTEN ABOUT CANNON FODDER??????????????
....comeon! we spent hours looking after Jules and his mates and wasting all the new recruits first!

War has never been so much fun.

My most memorable gamming memory is way back with the game wingcommander (high speed Amiga cd32 A1200 adapted release). There was a moment when my heart was beating so fast I could have had a heart attack , it was so tense. )

a mission where you have to recover an kilrathy destroyer. if mission is lost, it looks bad and next mission is horrible mine field.

took so many goes to get it right. the enemy are trying to destroy the destroyer before you get there and it dies real quick. so in the end my solution was simply go all guns blazzing direct into jarthi 6 gunner ships comming at me and max boost and simply collide into them hopeing i survive.
eventually the destroyer made it to the first nav point where the enemy leave it alone and i could get on with doing the mission properly. my ship was a flying wreck but i did it. I was a shivering wreck after saving game as I couldnt believe i finaly did it ;)

So annoying i cant transfer my 100% perect save game over to pc to continue with secret missions .
