Gaming mouse..

Are there any decent wireless mice that offer 2000dpi? I currently have an MX700 and its done me proud but feel like something a little more responsive, but i dont want a wired one! I wish the MX Rev was 2k dpi! Thats damn right sexy right there.

Mx510/518/G5 All superb mice.

Still use a 510 myself, Mrs has a 518, and i've used the G5's.

When my 510 gives up the ghost i'll get whichever is the latest revision of this series.

G5 here, seems fine though I find the thumb buttons too high for my hand's natural position on the mouse. Middle button is a bit of a pain with a tendency to scroll left / right instead of middle clicking.

Very accurate and comfortable for normal use though.

sorry to hijack - I'm in the market for a new mouse atm.

What makes the lachesis better than the G9? is it just the DPI? I think the G9 looks really comfortable - can anyone comment on comfort or build quality of either? sadly, I've got no way of trying them without buying so I'm having to go on recommendations!

:( I was hoping someone wouldn't say that - guess I'll just have to give it a try, but I want someone to tell me what to buy!!

Does the DPI really make a difference?
been using multiple MX510's for years and never thought it was jerky movement in any game I've played. Its comfortable and seems smooth for everything. Saw the MX Rev and thought that looks nice to upgrade to but everyone says its only got 800DPI, is there really that much difference between 800 and 2000 DPI in real usage?

It depends entirely on how you use your mouse (as in with your fingers or actually holding it in your palm) I personally hold the mouse with my fingers and asuch I'm more inclined towards the razer diamondback(which I have)/lachesis(probably will get soon as my diamondback is on its way out). Ive heard for those who grip the mouse with their palm the deathadder is apparently the best whilst the lachesis is for people like me. (You cant see im a fan of razer products can you :p)

I can't get away with Razer, so its logitech for me

Have an MX510 atm, but am putting that away for LANs etc as i want wireless for home, and have got a MX3000 set BN cheaply :) MX600 wireless mouse, which looks perfect :)

MX1000 / G7 etc are too large for me (heightwise) :(

Microsoft Intellimouse Optical 1.1 - £10 - 15 quid

Best gaming mouse I've ever used. It's comfortable and has 5 buttons and a wheel. I've tried others and I always come back to this mouse. Chip as chips and an amazing mouse for gaming. I can honestly say I've never noticed any problems with movement in any game - it's always responsive.

I've used a MX518 for years, best mouse I've owned and is a lot cheaper than most mice on the market now. When my first one started to pack-up I didn't even think about buying another mouse.

I use a MS habu mouse. Good snug fit, and very smooth and responsive. My bro uses a Copperhead and it has a very similar feel when using it. However, the actual fit around the hand I do like as much. I like the slant and shape of the Habu and find for me, my hand rests more comfortably on it. But the Habu was designed with Razor so it's bound to be similar. :)

Not cheap but worth the money I feel
