MX518 all day long. At the current price it is a steal and Logitech support is second to none.
When my MX518s feet wore off (due to my brushed aluminium pad) they sent me a replacement mouse. Didn't want the old one back or proof of purchase etc! Infact, I'd only emailed them to ask if I could buy a set of the feet they come with because they glide so well on my mouse pad (until it eats them
)

Is there a lot of difference between the MX518 and the G500? The price difference is minimal, and the looks of the G500 is quite a lot more attractive to me.
On the other hand, I have heard that the side mouse buttons on the G500 are bad. Which might make the MX518 the better option, aesthetics aside.

It'll actually be here tomorrow and it was outside of it's warranty but ya can't beat that for customer service!

Hi there I'm basically in the same situation as the person that started this thread, £40 is my budget give or take a tenner if it's one that looks aesthetically pleasing 
I am more of a claw grip user, I'd also prefer it if I could either adjust the weight or if it's nicely weighted already and preferably with blue lights if any because I've got the antec 900 case and I'd like it to all be color coded lol I forgot to add aswell that I've considered the deathadder and the lachesis but comparing them to my iphone which is 135g I presume they're fairly light. Just as long as it's got a few extra macro buttons I think I could compromise on the actual weight if it was that much of an issue compared to the other features.

Does nobody else find the finish on the mx518 a bit "sticky" it's smooth finish I feel makes my hand sweat more and thus stick to it a little which I don't like. It does perform really well and is almost identical to my G5 but the G5 has a much nicer finish and the weights. Got both of these mice for xmas 2 years ago iirc.

Razer Mamba is a good claw grip style mouse. I had one before my Deathadder, when my hands were just too big for it though.
