I'm well overdue an upgrade to my pc and i havent been keeping up with whats good anymore. I mainly just use the pc to play Apex Legends. I use to play a lot of battlfeild but i had to stop playing it years ago as my pc couldnt handle it.
Currently I've got:

Ryzen 5 1600
Asrock x370 gaming k4
Corsair vengeance led 2x8gb 3200
Nzxt x62 cooler
3 x 500gb ssd
Sapphire rx580
Evga 650 g2
NZXT case
Gigabyte adq27dq freesync monitor

Probably the only parts i can salvage is the NZXT Cooler, case, psu and ssd. Would £800 be enough for a decent motherboard, CPU, GPU and ram? Any parts that you would recommend?

Check if your board supports the 5700X 3D
If I searched the right one then it's at the bottom of the CPU support list and from Bios P 7

If so, then a larger SSD and a GPU

Won't get more for less

With a BIOS update

I'd get a 5600 for your current board (5700X3D if you want to spend).

6750 XT for graphics card (£300) or if you want to spend more, a 4070 non-Super or 7800 XT (around £450). From what I can see online, your monitor is 1440p, so those cards would be fine.

I don't know if Apex Legends favours nvidia or AMD cards.

Ok I've just updated my bios to version 10 from version 3.5. looking at the CPU support list I can see 5700X but not 5700x3d. 5800x3d is on there though.

Also take thorough notes of the Description in the BIOS updates

Looks like 10 is a beta BIOS (should be ok but with caveats)

Which version did you flash ?

I flashed it to version 10.31. if I was to go for the 5700x3d would it work ?

I've seen a Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT Gaming 12GB on offer that I'm thinking of buying. Just wondering though will my motherboard and ram restrict my GPU ? I've had a look. On the qvl list for ram and there isn't anything I can really upgrade to so I'm stuck with 16gb at 2933.

If you upgrade to a 5000 series cpu you will most likely be able to run your memory at it's full 3200mhz.

I don't understand why everyone is recommending these WD SN770 drives. For a Gen 4 drive they are slow, only Read 5150MB/s, Write 4850MB/s and their TBW is only 600. Only a fiver more expensive is the TeamGroup Z44A7 2Tb which has proper Gen 4 speeds 7000mb/s read, 6100mb/s write and 1000 TBW making it a much better buy surely? Unless I am missing something here.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £118.94 (includes delivery: £3.99)

Hmmmmm his mobo has an m.2 gen 3 slot - Shouldn't make that much of a difference but is a future handicap years down the line which is why I thought maybe a complete upgrade inc mobo is in order ?

Whilst we talk of SSDs I've picked up the SN850X recently at a decent price

Interesting new drive I just read the review looks a decent option.

2tb Sn770 has 1200tbw Overclockers listing is incorrect .
