I don't understand why everyone is recommending these WD SN770 drives
I tend to recommend brands that i have used.
Have had loads of WD drives over the years and never had a problem with any of them.

The only thing wrong with these drives is that they do not have DRAM cache (which i prefer to have).
You are right about the speed tough, but outside of benchmarks i don't think it will make much difference.

The TBW is a fair point but I'm also in the camp of "I doubt I'd see the difference between 4000 vs 5000+ mb/s"

If you upgrade to a 5000 series cpu you will most likely be able to run your memory at it's full 3200mhz.

I don't understand why everyone is recommending these WD SN770 drives. For a Gen 4 drive they are slow, only Read 5150MB/s, Write 4850MB/s and their TBW is only 600. Only a fiver more expensive is the TeamGroup Z44A7 2Tb which has proper Gen 4 speeds 7000mb/s read, 6100mb/s write and 1000 TBW making it a much better buy surely? Unless I am missing something here.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £118.94 (includes delivery: £3.99)
The reason I often recommend them is because they're relatively cheap (when on offer), fairly well proven and reviewed well. The 600 TBW you stated is the 1TB version, the 2TB version has 1200 TBW.

Most of these drives get updated with newer NAND so the "on paper" figures don't really bother me and I'd rather have a proven drive than one which uses controllers and NAND I've never heard of, or don't know if it can be trusted yet.

I can't comment on the Z44A7 specifically, because I can't find any information about it (it is absent on Newmaxx's spreadsheet).

I've just installed my Ryzen 7 5700x3d and the pc won't boot, just keeps switching on and off. Ive got the latest 10.31 bios update and Ive enabled ftpm in the bios but it still won't boot. Do I need to install all the old bios updates as well? Last bios update I had was 3.5 and I went straight for 10.31. I've put the old CPU back in for now and flashed some of the older updates on but still getting the same

I'm assuming the board supports it on that BIOS?
Reset the closed with it in?
Disconnected storage just to check it even posts?

After bios update, reboot into bios and set "Load Default Settings", save and restart.

https://www.asrock.com/support/BIOS...the BIOS is flashed, press [Enter] to continue.

**It requires to update BIOS to 7.00 before updating this version.
