Garage messed up, course of action?

This is exactly why I don't like dealership garages. You will always get some ***hat or apprentice who couldn't care less about your pride and joy.

Entirely possible to get the same at any garage surely?

At least with a main dealer you have an escalation path if you have a problem; if you take it to an indie and the ***hat happens to be the owner then you're a bit stuffed!

Idiot leaving the comment deserves to get fired!

It won't auto delete, he deleted it. I wouldn't take the car back there now tbh, you don't know what he or one of the other untrustworthy staff there will do to it out of camera frame.

r/roadcam or r/cars may prove a hit with it too. Better chance of gaining some sort of outcome from the reddit effect. I could post it up if you're not a member? Though it's 50/50 if it gets popular or not :p

Ta. I don't use reddit but posted it to both and it's got 144 in r/roadcam. Video itself is up to 4,400 views!

Also just had someone comment:

I also had the garage mechanic report the rear windscreen wiper switch as broken, (over £500 to replace) which was strange as it worked fine before. So I went to the garage and had a look myself

The manager was not impressed when I showed him the missing fuse.

That comment is ridiculous, I'd be sending that screenshot off to the dealership.

He'll be screwed as I imagine he;s already had a roasting behind closed doors from the DP.

His employer has a problem and it needs to deal with it, it's quite obvious he sees no wrong in his actions and much wrong in yours. That is the crux of the issue...in his language, "he needs learning good".

The evidence it's him is purely circumstantial though surely.

Of course. All it confirms is he works at the garage. His Facebook is pretty open and he's pictured there and with people who are visible in other parts of the footage in front of the car etc.

This is probably a good time to admit I never watched the video :D, but his reaction makes that a little less relevant I guess. I had a similar situation on Twitter where a companies internal service representative decided to get angry and very abusive via his own personal Twitter a while later. Very naive not least as it took less than 2 minutes to tie the two together. My interaction was civil, just someone having a bad day and taking it out on me and I believe a few others, but that's not my problem.

This is why companies get so precious about social these days, it can cause so much damage, which is good as it aids the customer if done correctly and not vindictively but can dig a massive hole as we see above. You point is valid (I assume you watched it and I know you're not a thicko), but the fact the employee then chose to go postal is a problem and kind of moves the discussion on.

good good! I'm glad this is escalating ;) crap garages should be named and shamed.

Well, he'll get the sack for this I'd assume... as if Kia even knew this thread existed surely?

He won't get sacked. Judging from the attitude from the manager and garage they will give him a prize. Possibly Employee of the month!

Post a review here with link to video.

With there only being 1 review atm, yours will be incredibly powerful. Whenever they google the garage it will come up.

Even better would be to post it on twitter and hope to get as many retweets as you can. Immediately becomes visible to thousands of people if not more. If you use the right tags it will come up in searches as well.

I would just state that the comment from Kia that they are somehow unable to act is nonsense. Kia are able to give you anything they wish, and they are able to put considerable pressure on the dealership.

Inform the Kia Communications Director of the abuse on YouTube. Suggest that this is the sort of thing that damages the brand.
