Seems a bit harsh over a fence, but needs must I guess.

I’m talking when they are in really bad shape, or the wind has damaged one for example, a few nails to fix it up and perhaps some fresh paint while it’s out, not like I do it every year, perhaps once or twice every 5 years or so. Both sides are fairly new panels, so can’t see myself worrying about them for years, apart from a lick of paint on our sides.

NEIGHBOUR DISPUUUUUUTE! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!

Tying a bit of string to the fence for things like plants is perfectly normal. If it breaks the flimsy looking solid concrete post then they will have to pay to fix it.

Don’t sweat it. Just leave it.
