Hey,

Just watched Garden State, awsome movie :), i did not really understand the point of the plane 'crashing' scene at the very start of the film, with the oxygen masks and everything. As far as i could tell it was never explained, other than briefly when he got on a plane at the end however it seemed unrelated to the opening scene.

Could anyone explain the relevance of it?

Thanks
Jack

I think its just to show hes complete numbness to everything around him, he doesn't react while everyone around him is screeming. I don't think its actually crashing just has extreme turbulance.

ugh. i thought it was self indulgent crap personally. it's that movie that made me realise that Zach Braff is pretty much talentless unless he's got really great writers behind him, and he's not a really great writer.

I thought the film was absolutely excellent, probably watching it again tonight.

I'm too used to Scrubs though - I was waiting for a "brown bear" comment or a lapse into an inner monologue :D

I watched this the other day through the new Sky by Broadband thing, and was very impressed. Although nothing really much "happens", theres lots in it that just seems to make sense and fits well. I found it difficult to appreciate why I enjoyed it so much, but I did. Cracking soundtrack, too.

Rob.
