garrys mod pirate error

these types of piracy protection have been used many times before, and iirc most of them have caused more issues for legit customers who are stuck with it forever causing problems while the pirates get it patched about about week after release.

Doesn't the bit-tech article negate the point unless its already been implemented for a while. I have no interest in Garry's mod but from my perspective aren't the type of people who play it or would pirate it tech savvy enough that they would do a search and find the article/statement therefore catching the stupid pirates not the savvy buccaneers?

You'd think so Mattyjw but clearly not!!

Love that twitter response:) I hope there's no false positives though...

and then what?

They're still stuck with the error and an unplayable game.

No, i'm pretty sure all it does, is cross-reference the steam id you are using, if it comes back and says you don't own it, you will get the 'error' I don't even think it is a real error. Garry has said it is impossible for it to effect a legitimate user.

If the steam account linked to is indeed his it has over 4000 hours played on Garry's Mod ()
