if two people have decided to be gay, why should they adopt a child?

they are gay, two of the same sex cant make a baby, it s like..you have to be anti-children to be a gay person

why be gay and then adopt?

Because you don't have to be attracted to the opposite sex to feel paternal / maternal and warrant having a child that you can nurture and care for.
Especially as these children would possibly still be in care if said gay couple didn' t adopt them.

Because two people don't "decide" to be gay.

Furthermore, they are just as capable of being good parents.

I don't mean to sound offensive here, but is that based on years of factual statistical evidence? Sounds rather ignorant to be honest.

There is no reason to suspect this, and in almost every instance, they will have a much better life than had they remained in care.

I'm sure most would be perfectly willing to do that. But try finding a woman that will let a gay man get her pregnant then take the baby away from her. And then there's the fact that the baby will genetically belong to only one parent, making the relationship unbalanced. If they adopt a baby they will both have an equal claim to the child (should they break up or whatever).

Sounds like neocon is very set in his ways of thinking about homosexuals.
His issue is with them, rather than the idea of adoption.

If a child was bought up by two men, their friends would know this and in choosing to be that childs friend, be understanding and accept the situation.
What's the difference between a childs "dads" coming in and saying "We're off to bed now" and another child's mum and dad doing the same thing? Is it because they're gay they most definately must have to 100% be going upstairs for some marmite mining / bumming / any other stupid homophobic cliche.

I have friends who are homosexual and I feel no differently about them than my straight friends. At the end of the day, just because they're gay doesn't make them instantly want to 'do you up the bum'. Once you can get over that fact, the hostility towards gay people is really unfounded.

The problem with homophobes is that they judge homosexual couples as though they were male (bear with me).
Even at my age if I could get sex in the morning, noon and night I'd take it and some males think that homosexuals must be at it all the time because of how they judge themselves.
The truth is that most homosexuals have a female mentality and would prefer a cup of tea instead.

I don't think they'd agree with you there

Homosexuals are notoriously promiscuous, massage parlours and the likes. I'm sure there are "bummers woods" in other parts of the country, not just here in the midlands.
Saying that, the same can be said for straight people, there are plenty of 'dogging' places around and women can be just as frisky as us blokes!

I wouldn't say most. Many do, certainly more than straight men, but probably not most.

I think most homophobes have this strange notion that all gay men will have uncontrolable urges if they met. Pretty arrogant if you ask me. What do they think is going to happen? Do they think every gay man they meet will try and rape them?

I'm kinda readin this thread in shock. I thought by now people understand that gay/lesbian isn't always a choice. But clearly not. Two gay men, born gay, still have the desire to be a dad just the same as a straight man. Juts the same as a lesbian feels need to nurture and become pregnant... not their fault they need a penis to do it and they don't want one of those.
