All these brands pulling their advertising is frankly embarrassing. They can’t even give a reason, one of them noting something along the lines of ‘we will watch the channel and see what it’s like’. In other words

So kindness is hopefully prevailing.

Scratch that, they don't want to be associated with loones, not because they are loones, but it will hurt the cash flow.

It's that simple... follow the money.

Kindness? How did you figure that out.

How is kindness even a topic to be associated with a news outlet. Not withstanding, how has the content so far not been ‘kind’.

Is selling furniture in Saudi Arabia an act of prevailing kindness?

It's kinder than selling them weapons I suppose. Is that you, Boris?

Doesn’t really explain how pulling advertising from a news outlet that’s been on the air a couple of days and has barely broadcasted a thing is somehow proving that ‘kindness’ is prevailing.

It’s impressive that a company like IKEA are prepared to make such a bold stand for reasons which they can barely plausibly explain, yet will happily do business and earn profit in a country that still has the death penalty for homosexuals.

I think he's trying to justify wokeness as a kinder alternative. Not kinder though to those that are more qualified but don't get a job because some woke org wants to blindly follow an ethnic or LGBTQ quota.

I don't know about IKEA.. Are they arming people in the middle East like the conservatives are?

Not entirely certain what that has to do with the subject at hand. But if you want to be critical of the Conservative government and international politics when we are talking about hypocritical businesses advertising (or not) on news platforms, so be it. Seems to be conflating two separate topics to me.

We've always sold arms to other countries we deem allies just as the US and others also do. If we didn't someone else would.

The only reason IKEA made a statement is to try to detract from the news about them losing a court case today for stalking their staff. "humanistic values" my arse.

Bloody Daily Mail's gone woke now too with the sacking of one of their journalists over a child name suggestion for wokers Meghan & Harry.

I don't consider myself right-wing, am I allowed to be critical?

Why are you a not so called right-wing? Don't liberals think critically too? Why does liberal have to answer your question? Surely both right-wing and liberal can be upset at the same thing? Or both not upset?
Seems you are self determining a position for both you and others who disagree with you? Why ask?

Very strange.

If your post made any sense, I might be able to respond, but it doesn't.

All these brands pulling their advertising is frankly embarrassing. They can’t even give a reason, one of them noting something along the lines of ‘we will watch the channel and see what it’s like’. In other words they don’t actually have a reason except that a few vocal people on social media have pressured them because they don’t like the idea of a news channel that wants to give a different perspective.

But apparently cancel culture isn’t a real thing.

Chortle, good point well made. Are these companies an example of the term "woke"? If I were in the market for junk furniture IKEA would be in my little black book now :)

Well Fascism is about forciful suppression of opposition, so looking to prevent what you deem an opposition news channel, earning enough funding to stay alive could be construed as a very mild form of fascism.

Advertisers are simply using their buying power, just like ypu hsve stopped buying certain ciders. Does that nake you a fascist?
