I'm not entirely sure what 'woke' is supposed to mean.. It seems like it's intended as a generic 'anyone with an opinion' political slur of some kind.
Basically. Or anyone with an opinion that isn't anti-BLM, over the top on being pro-white or continually declaring white racism/attack on the whites etc.

Extra points for data on poor disenfranchised white people and top up points for pointing out the Chinese win.

I don't even think I understand what all the uproar is about, quick google search and its just a...news channel? like the rest of them? what makes this one worse than the rest of the trash that gets broadcast?

I don't watch live tv or read news.

Just another word for virtue signalling at every opportunity. A bunch of soppy people started calling themselves "woke" on social media, but now it's use ironically to take the **** out of them. They are in the same camp as Champagne socialists. In fact the Champagne socialists probably own the camp :D

Using Tweets like that to prove a point is disingenuous.

One has 5 likes! It's hardly indicative of the general population.

Even your first one that I didn't quote only has 388 retweets

Who said it was indicative of the general population?

It's indicative of a certain type of person... there are plenty more of them too.

So 'woke' pertains to people who are judged to be 'soppy'? How are they judged to be soppy, and by whom? it's a very curious term.

A new news channel spearheaded by Andrew Neil. Some are calling it a potential UK Fox News, which remains to be seen, but it has a lot of right leaning hosts, including an ex brexit party MEP and pro brexit election candidate.

It also has the historian Neil Oliver, who is known for being very pro-union, so the channel will obviously be very much against Scottish independence.

Thanks :)

Because this won’t pander to the left, and the left don’t like it. BBC have already tried to shut it down.

I think people are wanting something that opposes the current broadcasting of the news as they are sick of being told what to think and how to behave?
This kind of channel will tell them it's ok to think how you do, you are doing nothing wrong.

This should be interesting. If they even manage to do half of what they promise, it’s going to make a pleasant change.

What is interesting is the team. I see a lot of old, the old Sky News.

Wasn't Alastair Stewart once Sky News? I know he was ITV as well.
Colin Brazier
Was Darren McCaffrey from Sky News? The name rings a bell.
Kirsty Gallacher was Sky Sports
Michelle Dewberry was on some show on Sky News Thursday nights 8pm. The Pledge?
Then of course Andrew Neil was one of the founders for Sky News back in 1989.

Interesting Neil Oliver is on it.

The word Interesting is another word that has been infected by the internet, Watching people on youtube saying " am I being detained " etc...
They all read from the same script and it gets tiresome.

Hopefully it wont allow the left to be let off the hook so easily as being interviewed on the BBC. Whoever Labour put up for interview on any given subject is going to of had to of done their research properly or be exposed.

I think this is the problem I this thread, people see it as weapons against the opposing agendas, they might not see it that way and have Stockholm syndrome types of acceptance but it is an agenda pushed by the idiot box we all watch, (yeah I know i'm one of the idiots I suppose)
