GCSE Question

It can't hurt to have a science qualification, if anything it can only help your application.

I'm doing my GCSEs this year as well. Very good luck mate :)
Cheers good luck to you to :)
you dont NEED it.. sure its good to have, but once your in 6th form/college, then nobody cares after that, its all about the A levels.. and then once thats done, you get your degree at Uni.. and then its void cos nobody really cares! :)

all about the experience though imo!

Sound's good :)

Sounds like your science teacher/dept are worried you will fail (lower than C) at a GCSE, so have put you in for an idiot course, probably level 1/2 which will give you a pass or fail.

This will look better on their stats.

As crap as that sounds, it is most likely true.

Get your parents involved, demand a test to prove yourself. It is not too late to change, we are in Jan. At worst you may have a few weeks to complete any coursework element. Be prepared to work your butt off if they agree.

Which school is this if you don't mind saying?

No. I haven't been put there because I am stupid/dull I have been put there because I missed 3 month's of year 9 due to medical reason's.
The school is the best state one in the city.

I'm not saying you are stupid, but you have missed some school, therefore your teacher has categorised you. Fight it, don't accept this. Prove them wrong etc. Any word of "you can sit a course in 6th form" - rubbish, tell them you want to do it now, not next year.

hmmm. at the end of year 9 they did a GCSE Qualification test to decide which set to stick you in. I never did this , does this give me more of a case?

Push like you're pasty smashing a 20 stone hairy chick to get a 'proper' GCSE.

I ****** mine up at 16 and am now re-doing them (got a B in English last year!)

Yes I plan to kick off big time. I ain't letting my future go down the drain.

Write "GCSE Grade B - Science" on your CV and be done with it. If they do check you can at least justify it.
